Excellent for teachers
I teach one day a week in a classroom with no clock. I want to model to my students *not* taking my phone out all the time, and am not always wearing a watch. This timer has been ESSENTIAL to keep our lessons on track! I LOVE the backlit display and easy read numbers. I also love the thermometer because thermometers are fun (and my students — 5th graders — always enjoy checking the temp in the room!). Bonus, I can check humidity too!The timer function is excellent and was essential for timing classroom activities and kept me from having to keep things on track. It’s easy to set the time and timer, easy to use, and is a sturdy little unit. The batter has lasted all semester with a few hours of use each week (I turn it off between classes). My only disappointment is that the timer/alarm is not very loud and was easy to miss at first in a busy classroom. It does keep beeping until you notice, however, so we never “missed” a break or change in activity for my lit class, but it wasn’t useful for gym unless I had it in my pocket.

It was very intuitive to use. The clock and temperature settings work like every other digital clock I’ve used in the last 40 years. There is a “SET” button in the back to set the clock and alarm. Turning the dial on top sets the time or timer.If the timer is set to “0” then the timer will be in stopwatch mode. Everything feels great about this timer – the buttons, dial, and the shape. The battery door is a little loose for my liking but should hardly be used much. The battery bay is also a little tight but ensures the batteries stay put inside between the contacts.The interesting thing about this unit is the backlighting is always on. At first thought, I was concerned about the batteries being drained too quickly. However, they are so dim that it seems to be of minimal effect to battery life. The rear button can be double clicked to give a bright momentary boost to the backlighting brightness.The temperature and humidity readings seem to match all the other thermometers and hygrometers I compared to – although it takes a few minutes to adjust.My only complaint is no matter what the timer is set at, the ticks or the “visual” part of the timer should start at full. As it stands, there are sixty “ticks” corresponding to each minute of the maximum 60 minutes. Hence the bar is only full if the timer is set to 60 minutes; half full if the timer is set to 30 minutes.This is one of my favorite pomodoro visual timer clocks I evaluated because I like the simplicity of usage and the added utility of thermometer/humidity readings.If over long term use, my feelings change about this product, I will update this review. Visual countdown, hygrometer, and thermometer useful for lab. Display can’t be read from afar.
I got this mostly for its hygrometer for use in a lab where the temperature and humidity must be reasonably controlled. The hygrometer agrees with our other instruments. The countdown timer (for experiments) is easy to set by twisting the knob and pressing; to count up you just press without twisting the knob. The display is NOT very visible from far away. It would be more useful if you could see the display from far away, but it was inexpensive and worth it for the price. It is easier to see from afar in the dark, since there is a backlight.
