About an inch smaller in each dimension and looks a little frumpy.
This cushion came nicely packaged and the instructions were clear. It was easy to set up. However, the cushion is smaller than the stated measurements of 18×16 inches. I bought this for my sitting chair (and not a wheelchair) which needed more padding. Actual cushion seems to be closer to 16×15 inches. I was hoping that it would fully fit the seat of my chair edge-to-edge. Even when well inflated, rock hard, the cushion looks “frumpy” and lumpy and not at all smooth like the product photos. I do like that the cover is removable for washing. It seems to be made of supple, thin vinyl or polypropylene plastic material. That said, I wonder about the durability. My guess is a few months to a year of use, if used daily. But that’s not out of line with other medical supplies that have to be replaced in a similar time frame if you use them every day. The non-slip surface on the bottom does its job well and it stays in place. The pump was easy enough to use and is compact enough to take with you, if needed. I found the comfort to be better than my previous memory-foam-only cushion. I like that I can adjust the firmness as needed. I’m going to give it four stars, but almost gave it three. I will use this as it has more comfort now but my primary issue is that I wish the size was as accurate as described. I can deal with the frumpy look.

First, I am not in a wheelchair, but I have several stenosis in my lumbar spine. I have been looking for a long time for an effective support cushion to help alleviate some of the pain I have daily from sitting long periods at my desk. I FINALLY have found relief with this air cushion.The air chambers are quite hefty (fully inflated, over an inch thick) due to its designed use and there is a defined section that remains slightly softer than the rest of the cushion and that helps alleviate pressure on the thighs. This is a blessing because it makes a difference in the pressure the backs of your legs feel.It can be on inflated to any firmness you desire, although please read the directions as to how to work the pump, as it is a little odd. Once you do that correctly, it is easy to get it to the inflation level you want it.The removable cover comes off easily and you can wipe it down and put back on super quickly. I really like that it also has a handle and a carrying strap you can connect, as I now take it to the many long meetings I have to painfully sit through. No pain anymore (well besides the meeting) in my back,bas the air chambers are assisting my posture and taking pressure off of the compressed nerves the stenosis is causing.Also, the quality is much better than I expected. The cushion is quite thick and dense and I have no fear of it rupturing.I imagine that this cushion is great for it’s intended purpose of support for a wheelchair, but it also is fantastic it you have spine problems and need support to help with your posture and long-term sitting.This is also a great bargain price-wise for the quality you are getting.

Makes a difference!
I am very happy with this chair cushion. It makes sitting for a long time far more manageable. It is not the best feeling cushion that I have ever used, but it is far from the worst. The pockets of air do not feel so comfortable after you used them. The pressure adjustment is a great system; however, it does have one flaw. The stem on the chair is facing outwards towards the front. This leads to your leg bumping into it and even getting hurt by it like I did. Other than that it works well and seems durable enough to holdup for a good. while. It also offers great support to the point that my hips no longer hurt.

This is a cushion specifically made for a wheel chair, but it can also be used elsewhere and has a carry strap handle along one side. I opened its inflation valve and some self-inflation occurred, but I did attach the pump to the inflation valve. After quite a few pumping stokes, the cushion was at a decent fullness. That pump was very easy to operate. After closing the valve and detaching the pump, it has a lock-on mechanism, I sat on the cushion. Note I do not have a wheel chair, but thought the cushion might have other uses for providing comfort. Straining while using the bathroom for long periods due to constipation can lead to much discomfort. The cushion has a cut out to relieve pressure to the tail bone area which should help with that straining discomfort. Of course not while using a toilet! The cushion has a buckle strap to affix to a chair and can be inflated or deflated to the pressure the user likes best. There is also a short zipper to remove the foam from the cover. One will have to deflate the cushion to get the cover off. Instructions warn that the foam area should not be cleaned, but the cover is made to be washed. The bottom of this cushion is covered with tiny projections that are there to help prevent movement of the cushion. The listing indicates the cover is water resistant and the cushion is for those weighing less than 220 pounds. It is true that it has dynamic air movement since the internal memory foam “bumps” allow air to circulate around them. One might need to get used to the fact that those are discrete foam objects, and one is aware of that when sitting on the cushion.I have included a picture attempting to show the projections on the bottom, what was received and the box, the strap attached, cushion filled, and the cushion and pump side by side.
