    Great adaptive spoon
Really great adaptive spoon! We got this for a family member with Parkinson’s/PSP and it works really well. The handle is easy to hold and the curve spoon has decreased the messes while eating. Easy to clean, too!

    Works well post CVA
This spoon was ordered for my father who experienced a mild CVA four months ago. While he is able to feed himself, he was removing mechanical soft food from the side of regular spoons. I had not throughly researched this spoon. When it arrived, I thought the design odd and the bowl too large. Dad has a tendency to load his spoons with too large of a bite for his dysphagia. But he readily accepted this new and different spoon. He is using it well. I do, at times, need to remind him to take smaller bites.

    Good for disabled people
My husband has lost the ability to grip things such eating utensils due to MS. He is self conscious about asking for help when eating. This spoon has a thick, study handle that’s shaped and angled in such a way that makes it easier to feed himself. It’s seems quite durable and is dishwasher safe. The bowl of the spoon is notched to help with minor cutting. It’s important to note that it’s only usable with a person’s left hand. Right-handed people need to get one that bends the opposite way. I wish the handle was dimpled, thus making it more secure to hold and that it was a brighter color to make it easier to spot in a crowded drawer, but those are minor things.

Perfect utensil designed for Parkinson’s patients
This is the perfect utensil for my mother who has Parkinson’s. I previously ordered the spork. This is not a weighted utensil (my preference) and the design is perfect since tremors many times prevent her from turning a traditional utensil toward her mouth successfully. Made for left or right handed.

    Left-handed spoon
Size of the spoon was a little closer to tablespoon size; a bit to large for my petite, elderly mom to use. Well constructed though

    Bummer
I purchased this product for my elderly dad. The concept is good but the negatives do not warrant a good review. First, he spoon is way to large. For people who are high risk aspirators and are told to take small bites, it is difficult to manage the bite size. Especially if, like my dad, they are prone to overloading the vessel to begin with. Secondly, the edges are too rough along the sides and where it appears there has been an addition to the spoon shape. That in itself would not be enjoyable to eat with for anyone! Who wants to irritate or cut the inside of their jaws and gums with rough edges. As with a lot of elderly, my dad’s skin is extrememly thin and sensitive. For these reasons I only gave 1 star and I considered this a total waste of money. Truly not worth the effort of returning. Again, the concept is good, so hopefully the supplier will read the reviews and get the kinks worked out.

The curve of the spoon makes all the difference! The handle is easy to grip and the curve makes it easier to get in my mouth withouth spilling

But I had to return it bec it didn’t fit for the person who needed it. Unfortunately had to pay shipping to return, so it cost me to try it and sadly ergonomically it wasn’t quite right and a touch too big for the person… but likley good for someone else.

Dans cette catégorie d’objet médical, celui que j’ai trouver le moins cher, les autres exagèrent royalement.
