The Med-Q Digital Pill Box meets our needs far better than anything else I could find.
Very very happy with this unit I purchased for my elderly mother. Previously she used 4 1-week pill box units so I could fill my mom’s pills for the next week (morning and night). Mom had the morning containers on the kitchen table and the evening pill containers in the bathroom. But she would every now and then forget to take pills. Now I replaced everything with 2 Med-Q units (1 in kitchen and 1 in bathroom like she is used to) and put them into the 2 week mode. And now with the reminder she doesn’t miss any pills. Works very well.Mom takes 12 pills at night and 12 in the evening. The evening pills just barely fits and I usually have 2 re-arrange them to get them to fit. So it would be nice if they were a little larger. Probably not a problem for most people. If it’s not time to take the next pills yet, if you push the Next Alert at that time then nothing happens. Personally I wish that it would flash pill box that was last taken instead of doing nothing (it seems to me this would give you assurance you have already taken the needed pills with the empty pill box flashing instead of doing nothing). But maybe Med-Q has determined it better to do nothing from their research or something (it does seem to work for my mother just fine, so maybe this is the best way)

Great for aging adults
Not the easiest to program. The only thing greater would be if the alarm was easier to turn off. Improved my 89 year old aunts ability to remember to take her meds.

Best ever at keeping patients on track with taking medications
Best device ever! As a nurse I couldn’t get my mom to take her meds, with this device she rarely misses a dose now. Easy for her to use at age 80, she just has one button to push to reset for her next dose. Save us over $300 per month not having the assisted living facility have to give her her meds and now she feels more independent and doing better because she is taking her meds routinely

TOO DIFFICULT TO USE BY ELDERLY & TOO COSTLY
Initially I found this very difficult to program but once I finally got the hang of it, it wasn’t too awfully bad. I bought this for an 84 year old woman with memory difficulties and she just could not get the hang of utilizing it. It really confused her that the morning and evening doses of medications were on different levels. Then the inability to program it to where the morning and evening doses could not be adjusted for different times intermittently just really made it difficult for her. Had this been less expensive, that would have been understandable but this is too expensive for that feature not to be available. I would come over to her home to find out, in frustration, that she would have taken out the batteries because she just could not deal with it. ** This device would be fine for somebody of a normal age as a reminder but it is just not meant for somebody that is elderly with memory issues because it is just too difficult for them to utilize!! **

All in all it isnt bad, but for the amount of money I spent …
It’s okay. While not really difficult to set and use, it kept going off at the wrong time, because the alarm and time settings are a little more confusing than expected. Evwn once everything was set right it still seems a little off. From the pictures I expected the compartments to be bigger. All in all it isnt bad, but for the amount of money I spent I was hoping for better.

) Thank you so much for this excellent product which will help organize an often confusing task …
This alarm/light pill box that you can program is a Godsend!! I have been waiting for someone to produce this for ages — this will help so many people keep track of their medicine and you don’t even need to know what day it is at the correct one lights up 🙂 Thank you so much for this excellent product which will help organize an often confusing task to many people who have chronic illness and have a hard time staying on track with their prescription medication.

Great idea but a bad design
I purchased this unit for my Mom who has mid stage dementia and hasn’t been taking her medications properly. What I thought I liked was it looked like her 2xday current manual pill box. However this unit isn’t set up like a 2xday (AM/PM) pill box. This machine starts at the bottom and runs left to right, then for the next pills it goes to the upper and runs right to left (example – bottom row Sun is on the left, top row Sun is on the right). I gave it 2 stars because it’s a brilliant idea and the only one of it’s kind, however they should have made the days line up top and bottom like a normal pill box. This unit didn’t work for my Mom for 2xday meds, it was a waste of $75. I do think if you only did 1xday meds this could work just fine.
