Superior Stand Alone Toilet Rail Grab Bar
I chose the Vaunn Medical Bathroom Adjustable Height Toilet Rail Grab Bar and Commode Safety Frame after researching the features, measurements and reviews. The deciding factors for my purchase were the 23″ width between hand rails and the fact that the height of the hand rails was adjustable. The Vive Stand Alone Toilet Rail and the Drive Medical Handicap Grab Bar are similar in design, but both are only 21″ between hand rails and the height of the hand rails on both are NOT adjustable, all three have a 300 lb weight limit for sturdiness. I decided the Vaunn Medical with 2″ more width between the hand rails would give more room to turn and maneuver, also being able to adjust the hand rail height to fit were features worth paying more for. I MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE!!! Very sturdy and very easy to assemble and easily moved for cleaning both the rails and around the toilet or moving in an out of the bathroom. (The one disclaimer is that the bottom foot rails do protude a ways, you have watch where you step)

Sturdy peace of mind
I’m a robust guy (5-11, 225 lbs) of 65 and have a slightly arthritic knee that has trouble flexing all the way. I recently moved into a new apartment with a toilet that is very low and also “isolated” (nothing to hang onto to assist lowering/rising).As a youth I was active and athletic, and I’m still active and work 70-80 hours a week, so I’m a little humbled to admit/accept that I’ve reached a point in my journey where I occasionally need assistance.But this Vaughn support frame is exactly what I needed to conquer the new low toilet situation… high quality, easy to assemble without tools, easy to adjust, very sturdy. Genuine peace of mind knowing that I no longer have to strain and lurch and stress my stiff knee when lowering/rising. It makes getting off of a low toilet as easy as getting out of an armchair.Before the first use, I was a little concerned about the frame possibly crowding my movements and interfering with the usual toilet activities. But the design provides adequate room. For those who might need more room, the frame can very easily be lifted or scooted out of the way while seated, then moved back into position when it’s time to rise.Because it’s free-standing, it’s easy to move to anywhere else in the apartment you might need help lowering/rising. Also easy to hide if you have visitors who might not need to know 😉

I’m a big man, and it works good
I am 6’3″ and wieght 296, so I was concerned it might not be sturdy enough. Had no weight bearing after foot surgery. This device supports me very well and is very sturdy, even close to the 300 lb limit. The larger width on this device compared to other similar products was the deciding factor and it worked just right .It is light, easy to move and made well. So glad I bought it!

Best solution for secure toilet use.
Great solution for post-surgery, or arthritic joints that make it difficult to accommodate a typical standard toilet. It is the only solution that doesn’t require permanent installation. The price was very reasonable too, and I even purchased a second one for the home of a friend who has prayer groups, card playing groups, and bible studies at her home – with senior participants. I put it in her guest bathroom where all of the participants can enjoy it during their visits. I suffer from Spinal Lumbar Stenosis which makes it so difficult to negotiate a toilet. I am also a large person – so this item is so sturdy and well built that it can accommodate any size person without fear of collapse. Easy to clean too.

It’s very heavy
I’m in my seventy and disabled found that it very well made but ,the arms pointed in its makes it very narrow also to move it s heavy. So I will have to sell it ,as we throw away the boxes .
