My disabled twins have yet to spill their food from these
I have twins who have a rare disorder which is slowly taking away the strength in their hands, causing muscle weakness. Shaking is also happening more often so eating can be a challenge. Over the past couple of years I have been trying to find what works best so that they can still have independence but not lose so much food onto the sides of their plate. These work great. Only complaint is the rubber ring underneath it to keep from sliding around, doesnt work so well. I feel it doesnt stick out as much as it should and is fairly thin. They have yet to spill the plate off the table but it does move around a bit. To see clean plates and knowing they were not losing food is enough for 5 stars for me.For those investing into this for elderly loved one or someone younger with a disability, I highly suggest in looking into foam grip tubing, which can be put over silverware. These plates with the foam tubing over is the best combination. Its the first time I have seen them have clean plates and no food ended up outside of the plate onto the table. Also for shaky hands, I sometimes put light rubber wrist weights on their wrists. Something that isnt so heavy to cause quick fatigue but helps keep their hands stable from shaking. The brand I bought a couple years back isnt available anymore but Im sure there are plenty of other light exercise wrist weights. The one I got had adjustable weight inserts and were rubber, so made for easy cleaning after meals. Hope this helps.

Not microwave safe
The product description here says it can be used in the microwave, but the inscription on the plate bottom says not for microwave. It does well in the dishwasher, however. The shape works well for shaky hands. They are breakable. One of the four plates arrived damaged. The rim was broken off around one side.

Game changer.
These are ideal for anyone suffering with Parkinsons Disease. The lip on the front of the plate makes it easier for the individual to be able to push the food onto their fork or spoon.

Sturdy, melamine-like plate/bowl with grippy bottom-NOT microwavable
This is a nice set of bowls and work as advertised making it easier for elderly or others to scoop food off the plate using one hand. I got these for my mom. She is 87 with Parkinson’s and has a hard time at meals. They are heavy enough to be sturdy and light enough to carry. The rubber ring on the bottom prevents the bowl from sliding around on a tray or table. The lipped edge works as designed and is a good design even for non-elderly. When we feel like eating on the couch and hold the bowl in one hand, the lip makes it easy to scoop without having to to use another hand and prevents spilling over the edge of the plate. Out of the four in the package I got, one had a ring on the bottom that was lifting. All of the bowls rings were tight fitting except this one, and I don’t think it would hold up over multiple dishwashings. It was just loose in the one area and I couldn’t get it to go back in the groove. The bottom says these are NOT microwavable, and it says they are dishwasher safe. But overall, this is a great design, and would be good for those recovering from hand surgery, elderly, arthritis sufferers, kids. I think senior living homes should invest this style plate.***The listing says these are microwave friendly, but the bottom of the plate says they are NOT microwave safe. I am repeating this as other reviews mention this discrepancy and the listing has not been updated yet.

Great product makes my husband’s life easier
My husband has Parkinson’s and is always having trouble getting his food on his fork. This plate is a great solution. It’s very high-quality and I love the fact you can put it in the dishwasher.
