Strapping good set!
Do you ever have difficulty getting jars open? My wife and I used to team up on a lot of tough-to-open jars. With this strap wrench set, though that’s no longer needed. Just place the jar on a countertop, the larger wrench’s strap around the jar’s base as if to turn it clockwise, then the smaller wrench’s strap around the lid to move it counterclockwise. Lay the large wrench on the countertop such that it can rest on your hip to stop the handle from turning, then turn the smaller wrench counterclockwise. It’s very effective and quite easy. Every kitchen should have these!

Complete solution, likely the best possible
This is THE solution. They give you two, and you will often need both. One holds the bottle and the other grips the lid and then – don’t put them too far apart – you have the ability to calmly apply some serious power in an even way. I’ve tried all kinds of devices, pads – I ferment things and sometimes deal with jars and bottles that are seriously hard to open because they’re under pressure or under a vacuum-ish reverse kind of pressure. And these are special tops that are for that purpose and hard to grip. Same for the jar or bottle. If it works for those it will work for virtually anything. With these things – you still have to be intelligent and thoughtful and understand what you’re doing and what force you’re applying in which directions – you are an extremely powerful position to open virtually anything that can be opened.

This is the best jar opener for sale on Amazon
I bought every jar opener for sale on Amazon. This was the only one that would open the plastic jars I couldn’t get open. The electric one would have also but you can’t use them on plastic jars cause they don’t disengage, it just keeps going and twisting and squishing the jar. With this it popped right open no problem.

Finally a way to hold the lid AND the jar!
Yes! Finally a product that addresses the other half of not being able to open a large jar. Gripping the jar itself! None of the traditional jar lid openers address this problem. It’s great that I can use my other jar opener and get a good grip on the jar lid, but then when I go to try to open the jar, the jar slips around in my grip. You sometimes need to be able to hold both the lid and the jar! This product solves that problem. The rubber straps are no risk to damage a glass jar either. Holds securely but with the rubber surface. If you are facing the same problem I am trying to hold the jar itself to remove a stubborn cap, definitely buy this product. Mine just arrived 15 minutes ago and I immediately used it to remove the fermentation lid off a quart Ball jar that I couldn’t grip strongly enough. These are well made too. The rubber straps are thick. Looks more like a shop tool than a kitchen tool but it will definitely get the job done.

I doubted but they worked
I had a blender cup that was stuck from grinding egg shells down to powder. It had gotten into the threads and I tried everything. I mean everything to get it opened. But I did’t want to give up so I searched and found these. I had no faith in them but low and behold. Using two in tandem I was able to separate them on the first try. I literally sat there in amazement. The straps stay in place so it was super easy to get it around the cups and open it. The fact that they’re pliable allowed it to grip even though the cups tapered down. The plastic is very thick and sturdy so you can tell these made to tackle big jobs. The fact that the straps go out really far reveals that as well. The design is simple but intuitive. So simple I didn’t think they’d work. I think its the fact that you can grip the handles and really torque that makes this work as well as it does.So glad I got them. I was so close to throwing the blender cups away. Glad I didn’t

Does not solve the problem
For opening jars, these don’t help people who don’t have a strong grip because you still have to have a strong grip to use them. There is no mechanism for locking the band at a certain tension. You have to rely on your grip for holding it tight. They are pointless for purpose I thought they were going to serve.

Great set for the older hands to get a “grip”
Nice little set. Can use both in tandem to open lid and hold jar at same time. (big pickle jars can be a pain to hold onto). Easy to use, good grip on lid and jar. Easy to open jars with this set. Highly recommend for the older hands that just don’t grip like they used to. Product has a good feel, well made.
