Well made Quality belt
Purchased for a large girth patient. The belt is easy to use with the clip latch. Very heavy duty and comfortable on this female. Purchased to use for both ambulation and lift assist, but the handles are mostly in the back and behind the mid-axillary line, making it challenging for lift assist. Also purchased a lip sling and feel that the sling serves needs better but definitely for a smaller person with the handles would be both anterior and posterior is a beautiful product for ambulation andLift

Sturdy, useful gait belt!
This gait belt is great, even our Dr and therapist commented on it. Multiple handles for placement of the hands of person assisting. Very sturdy, great color. Easy to adjust, remove and put in place. I bought it just prior to my son breaking his leg! I needed one ” just in case” I needed one. Great product. I actually bought 2, one for home and one for car.

If anyone needs a gait belt this is the one to go with. Its not great for helping someone who has fallen with the handles but more importantly it is comfortable for the individual wearing it! The handles are perfectly placed to assist effectively and it’s easy to put on and off without the risk of additional injury that sometimes happens with traditional gait belts! I highly recommend this product and it’s super affordable! As a nurse I’d love to see the old belts be replaced with these! Not anything I’d change about the belt. It was recommended to me from a home health nurse and both her and I have been nurses for over 15 years.

Great belt, but a little difficult for a first timer
This is a great belt – super sturdy and tough. This issue we had at first was that with all the handles, sometimes you couldn’t actually grab it in a hurry. If mom started sliding down, I struggled to grab the handles properly. Once I realized I needed to grab the handles firmly before we started transferring, it got easier.Since my grip strength is good, I have since gone back to the normal canvas belt. I can see how someone with limited grip strength would find this belt valuable though.

I love this belt. When mom went on Hospice, they gave me this other gate belt that looked like it was meant to torture someone. The buckle was metal and the belt itself was very hard and wide but I figured they new what they were doing so I tried it. Hospice showed me how to use it, I was supposed to squeeze it in the back behind mom between my thumb and finger’s to tighten the belt around mom’s waist to help maneuver her around when she was having trouble with balance. After the first day of using that belt, my hands ached and I was sure mom ached everywhere as well. It was a nightmare. I got on Amazon and realized not all gate belts were the same. I ordered this gate belt and it was here the following day with quick delivery. This gate belt is a dream to use after that other torture contraption that hospice had given us. This gate belt from Amazon is easy to use and there is a handle to hold onto to help mom with, always within reach without hurting her or myself. Mom still doesn’t like the gate belt because she has dementia and doesn’t remember the first gate belt we had to deal with but I explain, every morning, why it is necessary for her to wear it and she seems to understand. Mom continually tried to get the belt off, but no matter how hard she tries maneuvering, bending and pulling on the latch, it stays securely around her waist. I would recommend this to anyone caring for someone who is a fall risk.

Great Sturdy Belt
I bought this for my mom who just had a hip replacement and is unsteady on her feet. I love the multiple loops so I can easily steady her from any side. I also like the wider width as I feel it’s more comfortable when I need to pull on it, rather than a skinnier belt. It’s proven very sturdy so far and is easy to clean. My mom is just under 100 lbs and it adjusts small enough to fit her.

For my sisters neighbor
I bought this for my sisters neighbor who is a disabled Veteran when I went to visit her. She said that he falls sometimes (gently) and her husband has to go help him up rather than them calling 911 for a lift assist. I used to work in healthcare so I understand better than the everyday person how necessary a gait belt is and wanted everyone to be safer. I just received word that he fell again today and it was much easier to lift him from the floor and everything went and worked great.
