Customers say
Customers find this fidget toy to be the best one they own, praising its calming effects for stress relief and anxiety during driving, while also noting it’s super fun to keep hands busy. They appreciate the slightly yielding rubber texture and its suitability for both children and adults, including those with ADHD. The size receives mixed feedback – while some find it small enough to hold in one hand, others say it’s much smaller than expected. The snapability aspect is also mixed, with some finding it satisfying to pop apart while others struggle to reconnect the pieces.

Perfect for any use where moving your hands is useful
This thing is amazing! I’m kind of a platter of problems, and this thing is great for multiple uses. It helps my anxiety by giving me something to do with my hands, where I would previously just pick at the skin on my fingers or fidget with pencils so hard they’d fly across the room if I accidentally loosened my grip. This thing just twists and moves around your hand, allowing you to kind of mess with it descretely. I am also narcoleptic, and fall asleep randomly in class or otherwise. If I’m stationary for too long, I konk out. This thing is PERFECT for messing with to keep me just awake enough! If I feel I’m dozing, it’s great to move my hands around with it, and the rubbery tactile outside is perfect for sensory perception and making you really notice messing with it enough that it doesn’t become a second nature kind of thing, but not that it’s uncomfortable in your hands. The only problem I kind of have is that it’s quite large — I’m used to fiddling with things with just a finger or two. Easily solved by removing the links! Remove two and it’s about the perfect size for my normal sized hands. Do it in half to make two small fiddly things. Or leave it as it is and really pull it apart with your hands if you need bigger movements or want to use both hands. I also like to unlink a piece and keep it as a straight bit, which is also a nice new way to mess with it, as in that way you can twirl it! It’s also a good color. The other one I saw was like bright pink and purple…This one is all of the scientifically soothing colors. It’s nice!I would highly recommend this for anyone who fiddles with things on their desk, or with anxiety, narcolepsy or chronic tiredness, ASD or anything else. I’ve saved things on my desk or otherwise from being pulled apart of fiddled with that I otherwise wouldn’t want broken, haha. It’s the perfect toy for kids and adults alike — but it does come apart, so if your child is using it, do be careful and supervise.

Helps With ADHD and Anxiety
I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder and when I get hit with an anxiety attack, I tend to pick at my lip or injure my cuticles. When I got the Tangle Relax Therapy, I didn’t think it would help me overcome these problems but I’m pleased to report that my lip wound has finally healed because I’ve stopped picking at it. Now, whenever I’m nervous or anxious, I play with the Tangle and I feel better. I like the rubbery feeling of the material that the Tangle is made of and I really like the little ridges and bumps.I sometimes separate the Tangle into two smaller pieces so that I could take one to school and the other to work. In retrospect, I like it better as a whole long piece as it not only helps me manage my anxiety, it also helps me exercise my hands. When it’s shorter, it’s harder to play with as the pieces won’t quite rotate around enough. I actually wouldn’t recommend anyone else separating the Tangle into two pieces as I did because it actually can cause hand strain. From what I’ve experienced, I really like it better as a whole piece the way it’s intended to be used. I am just too broke to buy another Tangle.Anyway, I like that the colors are nice to look at as well – it’s not too attention-grabbing so even if you took this to work or school with you, I don’t think anyone would really be distracted by it. I’ve had coworkers as me what I was playing with but it was more because they were curious and wanted to try it out for themselves than because of how it looks.I also have ADHD and find it hard to focus on conversations. When I have the Tangle in my hands, it allows me to focus better as well. I took it to therapy a few times and found that I was able to better converse with my therapist while I had it with me.I definitely recommend this product to anyone with Anxiety or ADHD as it really does help, based on my experience.

Simple shape, amazing results
I had heard about Tangles a few months ago but never really understood why they were so popular in the autism/ADD community. I didn’t know exactly what they were for, so I largely ignored them. However, during my first visit to a new therapist, she handed this kind of Tangle to me and as I rambled on about my past, it was so easy to talk while my hands idly played with the Tangle. I liked fidgeting with it so much that didn’t want to give it back at the end of the session! I did, though, but luckily I was able to buy one for myself soon after. I debated amongst the fuzzy Tangles and the metallic ones, but I decided on this one because it has a bumpy texture that feels nice. If you prefer smooth things, go with a metallic one, but if you like bumpy surfaces, this one’s great. Mine is very sturdy despite many friends and family members testing it out to see for themselves if they liked it (all of them did). I prefer this to a fidget spinner or a cube because it’s quite nice to form different shapes with it and encourages more creative motion than repetitive motion. It definitely calms me down when I’m anxious and it’s nice to stim with when I need to do some thinking, especially about difficult subjects. It’s a nice, noiseless distraction that may look childish but is very therapeutic. I recommend these to anyone who has anxiety, autism, ADHD, or anyone who just likes to stim. No throwing, no spinning, no clicking: just silently manipulating the curves into pleasing shapes.

The Relax was the first Tangle I bought, and I just replaced it. I also own a Jr. Textured and a Jr. Chrome. I’m going to compare it to the Tangle Jr. Textured. This Tangle is not as durable as the Jr. It’s got a rubbery surface, so I knew it wouldn’t last forever. I got about 8 months out of mine, but how long it depends on how much you use it. By the end, the bumps had worn off and it looked permanently dirty. It’s not as easy to keep clean, and it’s not ideal to take everywhere.I used dish soap and water to clean it, but after I bought a replacement, I experimented with different ways of cleaning it. I wouldn’t recommend using alcohol based solutions to clean them, it seemed to degrade the surface. It’s hard to tell, however, since it was old when I tried cleaning it. Other types of cleaners did the same job or worse than dish soap. I felt dish soap cleaned a bit better than regular soap, but that might have lead to it degrading a bit faster. Lastly, I threw it in the dishwasher (it’s not labeled dishwasher safe, I was just curious). That pretty much killed it. The bumps all disappeared and the surface got a sticky, gross feel to it. some of the rubber was so badly damaged, it peeled off easily. The inner skeleton is pretty nifty, so if you have an old Relax, you might want to dissect it.This Tangle is floppy. The Jr stays posed. For me, it’s not a plus or minus in either direction, it’s just a notable difference. This Tangle matches the pictures and will lay flat. The Relax comes with exactly 20 pieces, and you can put it in shapes that lay perfectly flat. My Jr Textured and Chrome both have 18, so they will always lay with a bit of a curve. There’s also a perfectly even number of colours. The only different peice is a smooth piece that says Tangle on it. My first one didn’t have that, but this new one does.If you buy this and find it’s really helpful, I do recommend buying a “backup” right away. They can break, and it can be easy to put off ordering a new one until well after the old one should be put in the trash.Overall, I love these things. They’ve been very helpful in dealing with anxiety and stress. I also use them to strengthen my fingers (I play an instrument), and it helps with that too. I would also add that these aren’t just for people who have mental health or hand issues, people like to play with my Tangle all the time, and it can be hard convincing them to give it back.
