Customers say

Customers find these earbuds to be outstanding with good sound quality and value for money. The battery life is excellent, taking 50 minutes to charge to 100%, and they connect seamlessly once paired. The noise cancellation receives mixed feedback – while some find it superb, others say it isn’t great. Customers disagree on the fit, with some finding them comfortable while others say they’re too big for their ears. The functionality also gets mixed reviews, with some saying they work well while others report them stopping working.

    These are awesome!
Now I would like to start that I am a big fan of soundcore earbuds and headphones. I do own the soundcore Liberty Pro 2 earbuds, so I would be comparing them side by side. I would like to advise you that I really hate stick styled earbuds, however although I’m still not a fan of that style I really really like these. To start off the battery life on these are I would say better than the Liberty Pro two. Even with active noise canceling these last far longer than the Liberty Pros in battery life. Are also a lot lighter than the other ones which can be subjective depending on circumstance and usage. I also think for some reason that these sound better for a variety of reasons such as the seal is better and the way that the tips are shaped help with the sound quality and comparison with the Pro two. The case is also nicer and more compact in the way that it opens and closes. The other ones have a sliding case in which it opens easily and can cause unneeded battery drain. And the opposite is true with the p40i, the case is a tad bit harder to open but it remains closed far better and the magnets for the earbuds are stronger and the placement of the earbuds in the case is far superior. The things that I don’t like about the P40i. The first thing I don’t like about these is the stick Style of earbuds as they are annoying and are harder to position correctly due to the stick design. I also don’t like the sensitivity of the touch controls nor are they as programmable as they should be in the app. I am constantly trying to increase the volume, but due to the nature of the sensitivity I instead increase one bar of volume and then I activate the next track feature in watching YouTube it actually changes the video which is a major con. I also don’t like that because of the stick design it is harder to assess the correct position in the ear that it should be in so that it doesn’t pop out and that the best seal is achieved. Another thing that I don’t like even though they sound overall better than the Pro two, is that the Bass is not as good. And I believe that the lighter nature of the earbuds can feel sort of Airy. However these earbuds in my opinion have better microphones for calls better Environmental muting especially with wind while on the phone and the clarity of your voice is heard much better than the liberty pro 2. Also the active sound cancellation is to my opinion better and it has better options in the app. Please note I got these on sale so for me these are a very great option if you do not want to go with the soundcore Liberty Pro 2 or the new one which I believe is also stick styled. Volume wise I believe the Liberty Pro 2 have a higher volume and the soundstage is just Superior then these. However having both and using both these are definitely a buy for sure. I have not bought or used the new Liberty Pro 3 so I have no reference or comparison to those. I have owned the first Liberty Pro which I still believe although heavier are far more better than the Liberty Pro two in general sound and that it had a physical button which I prefer over touch buttons.Unfortunately for the time that I purchased the spin fit tips they do not fit the p40i’s earbuds so I had to return those and use the sound core included ear tips. I have had no connectivity issues in fact I can use them simultaneously with two devices and they are fast to turn on or off and the range is more or less the same as other soundcore earbuds I do hope they keep improving the earbuds in both price per performance and overall quality. I highly recommend these.

    Great Value for the Price
These and the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC came up in my research. I had high hopes for the Liberty 4 NC earbuds, as they seemed to trade better noise canceling for reduced specs like battery life and waterproof rating, which was fine by me. However I could not get a good seal with those. The earbuds on these P40i’s must be shaped just a little bit differently and fit my ears better. Using a the Large tip on one side and XL on the other, I can get an “excellent seal” in the fit test you can run in the Soundcore app.Speaking of the app, I really like the functionality there. You have all the options you need to configure the touch controls, EQ, and ANC modes. The only con with the app is it’s a bit of a battery hog, at least on Android. However, if you toggle the ‘allow background usage’ off, that solves that issue. In terms of the actual performance of the earbuds, music and podcasts sound great, and the ANC works very well to block out the noise from my lawnmower. Also way more comfortable than wearing big over-ear ear protection (was using 3M WorkTunes). It’s not completely blocked out but more than tolerable. They also do a great job silencing background noise in the office.Soundcore customer service is very responsive. I ran into an issue where the 2 and 3-tap touch controls did’t work during calls and Teams meetings. After some troubleshooting, they replaced them for me at no cost. This is still an issue with the replacement. Digging further into the controls in the app, this seems more like a feature than a bug. Seems like customer service should have already known this and could have simply explained it rather than replacing the earbuds, which accomplished nothing. Still, I applaud their willingness to help!Very happy with my purchase overall.

Pretty good for the price but mic noise cancelling is so-so
I bought these specifically for making hands-free calls when driving. My older car is not very quiet, especially when I’m going over 40mph. My Plantronics (bought by Polycom which changed their name to Poly which got bought by HP, I believe) Voyager Legend was the last bluetooth headset that actually did this well. Unfortunately, after Plantronics was bought, even buying the old Voyager Legend directly from the company yielded lower reliability/longevity. So, I sought out a new option for making calls, especially in my car. These earbuds worked pretty well. Most people could understand me when I was driving at speed (45+mph), but my Dad couldn’t until I slowed to 25mph or less. That’s significant to me, so I’m going to return them. But, it is worth mentioning that these earbuds’ microphone noise cancellation did work better than my *1.5 yr old* Plantronics Voyager Legend headset (its quality failed after 1-1.5yrs). Also, the microphone noise cancellation worked WAY better than my Bose QuietComfort earbuds (which sound great and cancel noise wonderfully for listening, but do nothing for the microphone quality) ever did. My Skullcandy ANC earbuds worked a little better than the Bose QuietComfort2 earbuds, but that’s not saying much. Also, total lack of any mute ability from the headset is a huge miss, in my opinion. The single button’s functions are easily programmable (through the app) for single-/double-/triple-/long-press for listening to media, but the functions are hardcoded for calls. And, regardless, the mute functionality was nowhere to be found. I found it difficult to avoid contacting the touch button, accidentally, when pushing the earbuds back in or putting them in my ears. Thankfully, the single-press does nothing, by default, so it never caused any issues.Otherwise, I really need to give a nod to the app quality. Soundcore/Anker is a Chinese company, so my expectation of the usability was low. However, the app actually works remarkably well and is very intuitive and usable compared to other headset vendors’ apps (Poly, Bose, and Skullcandy)! I was most impressed with the ability to connect to 2 devices at a time. I often connected to my cell phone and my work laptop. When I wanted to switch to my phone and my personal laptop, I simply told the app that I wanted to add another device and it was crazy easy! I can easily select in the app which 1 or 2 devices I wanted to be connected to. It takes a fraction of a second to open the audio channel for either device so I would miss the first half or so of a notification sound (e.g. a ding), but calls and listening to media was *super* reliable since the audio channel stays open. This is a huge improvement over my Plantronics Voyager Legend which was very unreliable when connecting to multiple devices, and sometimes failed to even stay connected to a single device. These Soundcore earbuds were very slightly uncomfortable to wear and tended to fall out of my ears, several times, when walking. I could wear them for a few hours, but really noticed the discomfort after an hour or so. I only owned them for a week or so, but they fell out of my ears multiple times when walking. I did try one step larger earbuds in an effort to secure them in my head, but they were uncomfortable and apparently the medium earbuds were closer to the right size. There’s a slight possibility that the small ones would go into my ear better, but that isn’t the main issue, so they’re still getting returned as soon as I have a few minutes to spare at home.Sound quality was pretty good and I enjoyed listening to videos and music through them. Especially considering the price, I would say these delivered very well in this area. They do pretty well at cancelling surrounding noises for my listening benefit. I can select “Noise Cancellation”, “Normal”, or “Transparency Mode” via the app. My coworkers don’t entirely disappear in “Noise Cancellation” mode like they do with my Bose QuietComfort earbuds, but for less than 1/3 the price, I would say that’s not a fair comparison. They did work very well when my coworkers were getting noisy/chatty in an open office atmosphere. Most of my coworkers seemed to disappear and the really noisy ones were much quieter. I was able to play soft music to drown out the noisiest ones. All in all, I’m going to buy the Poly (Plantronics) Voyager Legend, again, and hopefully I’ll get another year or so out of it and hopefully, by then, there will be a better option on the market (maybe the Voyager Legend 50 by then?). Based on the past 3 Voyager Legend headsets that I’ve bought, I expect comfort to last for a few hours and call quality to be great, as long as I can stay connected to my phone before and during the call. 🫤Would I recommend these earbuds? Yes for listening and noise cancellation while listening, and probably for calls, unless you need superb call quality in a relatively noisy environment. My car isn’t horribly loud (maybe it’s louder than I think?) but it’s enough to frustrate the person I’m talking to when the noise got louder. Most people I talked to were fine with it, even when I was driving faster (55mph), but if I can’t talk to my Dad, then these missed the mark.
