Meross Opener Easy to Install and Use
I may have a bit of a Home Kit addiction. This device is I think, maybe my 30th device on the network. Had it operational for a couple of weeks now so can share a bit about it.Why I Bought It In The First Place:Two incidents made me think about getting a Home Kit garage door opener. One….when we were in Alaska and my daughter arrived at our home outside of Indy and found she couldn’t get the garage opener pad to work. We sorted it, but wow, that was stressful. Secondly, every once in a while I work in the garage with the door open and forget to close it. The it stays open all night with all my tools at risk. So I wanted to buy something like this.Install Process:Meross has good videos on their site that are very helpful. Unless, like me, you have a Chamberlain opener. Turns out the traveling part of the opener runs on the outside of the track, meaning you cannot put the opener sensor wire along the track with the wire getting caught. And because I didn’t want to staple the wire to my ceiling and look at that ugly mess, I had to figure out another way. I could see the interior of the track seemed to be empty…but had no way to push the wire for the sensor through. So a few days delay while I ordered fish tape.Once I had that, I ran that sucker right down the middle of the inside of the box shaped track and viola! All good.I will say the rest of the install was embarrassingly easy. Once you power up the control box, it immediately connected to my Home Kit system. Easy peasy.The other install issue, which wasn’t an issue, but when I searched the Meross site to see if my opener was compatible it said “maybe.” So there were directions there on how to jumper the connectors on the opener as a way to test if it’s compatible. It was….so no problem.Programming it and operating are like any Home Kit device, so if you’re in the Apple ecosystem like me…it’s exactly what you’d expect.No calls to support because it was only the physical challenge of my opener that vexed me.Operations:Like any Home Kit device, easy to configure a closing time each day…so I just have it auto close at night just in case I forget. But one other nice feature that I didn’t realize would be there…when you’re in CarPlay and you get near-ish your house, the CarPlay screen displays a tile that allows you to touch it and open/close the door directly via CarPlay. Didn’t know I’d appreciate that until it happened. But I love it. And you can also ask Siri to open/close from anywhere. So it’s very convenient when you’re driving.I’ve only had the device running a couple of weeks now, but when we moved into our house 4 years ago I installed a ton of Meross light switches and outlets and not a failure of any of them yet. Not one.

Mein Garagentor wird über einen Hörmann SupraMatic E Antrib gesteuert.Wer den nicht kennt, sei gesagt: ich kann am Antrieb selber, per Wandschalter und über zwei Fernbedienungen die Garage öffnen. Meistens habe ich letztere NICHT dabei, wenn ich mit dem Motorrad unterwegs bin.Zum anderen muss ich erwähnen, dass diese Garagensteuerung mein erstes “Homekit” – Gerät ist, zuvor hatte ich nur eine AVM Steckdose und drei Heizungsventile von Bosch an der CT200 (alle seperate, untereinander inkompatible Systeme) als “SmartHome”-Steuerungen.Die Installation der Garagenstuerung ist einfach, aber sicherlich alles andere als schnell gemacht.Als allererstes das 5GHz-WLAN ausschalten.Dann habe ich vor der Installation meine Home-App von Apple eingerichtet (wie gesagt, mein erstes Homekit-Gerät!), danach die noch nicht in der Garage installierte Steuerung eingebunden (QR-Code, funktionierte sehr schnell und einfach), die MERROS-App installiert und dort die Öffnungsdauer auf 20 Sekunden gestellt (exakt dauert die Öffnung des Tors 16 Sekunden, ich kann in der App aber nur 5-Sekunden-Schritte auswählen) und einen Trockenlauf gemacht.Ob das Ding funktioniert oder nicht, hört man am Klacken des Relais.Damit die Statusmeldungen im Trockenlauf korrekt sind, habe ich manuell die Sensoren aneinander gehalten oder eben nicht. Je nachdem, ob Apple Homekit “geschlossen” oder “geöffnet” melden sollte.Übrigens, die o.g. Einstellung in der MERROS-App ist wichtig, damit ihr nicht einen “blockiert” – Status erhaltet, obwohl das Tor geschlossen ist. Denn sonst erwartet die App nach 15 Sekunden das Erreichen des Sensors, obwohl das Tor ja noch gar nicht zu ist. Die App ist dann doof und meint, wegen der fehlenden einen Sekunde den “blockiert”-Status rauszuhauen…..Bei der Hardware-Installation habe ich die beiden Schaltkabel an den Wandschalter angeschlossen, Reihenfolge egal. Da in der Nähe eine Steckdose ist, brauchte ich für das USB-Netzteil (!) nicht noch extra eine Stromsteckdose verlegen. Ja , richtig gehört, der Steuerung liegt ein USB-Netzteil wie bei einem Smartphone dabei und wird per Standard-USB 5V per Strom versorgt. Ungewöhnlich und sieht auch in der Garage ziemlich blöd aus, aber andererseits ist ein defektes Netzteil ganz schnell durch einen Besuch bei EDEKA oder REAL ersetzt.Dann noch schnell das riesenlange Sensorkabel verlegt (ich habe es nicht komplett abgerollt, da ich nur 1,5 Meter brauchte – aber 5-8 Meter dürfte das irgendwie schon haben!) und das war es schon auch.Da ich noch einen Adapter für den Sensor aus Holz basteln musste (siehe Foto, die Anbringung der Sensoren geht nur mit gegenüberliegenden Schrauben), dauerte die ganze Bastelei und Testerei ungefähr 1,5 Stunden.Die Funktion ist ohne Abbrüche vorhanden gewesen, auch 15 Meter vor meiner Garage konnte ich das Tor per Siri öffnen (Tja, hab’ da noch WLAN ;). Meine Frau konnte es per Siri öffnen, ich konnte es per Wandschalter wieder schließen, per Fernbedienung im Auto wieder öffnen und mit meinem iphone wieder schließen. Alles super!Zwei Dinge sind mir aber aufgefallen, welche nicht so toll sind:Öffne ich per Hand (Wandschalter, Fernbedienung des Herstellers) erhalte ich NICHT immer eine Mitteilung aufs Handy. Manchmal ja, manchmal nein. Wo da der Hase im Pfeffer liegt, weiß ich noch nicht.Und ich kann den Öffnungs-/Schließmechanismus nicht unterbrechen und umkehren.Ich kann z.B. mit dem Wandschalter die Garage öffnen, bei z.B. halboffener Garage noch mal drücken, dann bleibt das Tor stehen und bei nochmaligem Drücken schließt die Garage wieder. Manchmal ganz nützlich, gerade die halboffene Garage nutze ich bei Arbeiten (meine Werkbank steht auch in der Garage) als zusätzliche Lüftung gerne.Kannste aber knicken mit der MERROS – Schaltung bzw. mit der Apple Home App. Hier gibt es nur ganz offen oder ganz zu. Betätigungen während des Öffnungsvorgangs zum Stoppen werden rigoros ignoriert. Bzw. beim Schließen auch.Wären diese beiden Punkte erfüllt, wäre es perfekt.Was noch ausbleibt ist der Langzeit-Test und die Funktion über Apple CarPlay. Letzteres werde ICH kaum brauchen (weil mein Motorrad das nicht hat und nur meine Frau hat im Auto CarPlay, so what? 😉 ).Ich fand das abschließend einen netten und einfachen Einstieg ins Homekit. Eigentlich sind es 4,5 Sterne. Die gibt es aber nicht, von daher muss ich kaufmännisch aufrunden und 5 draus machen.

Ich nutze den Meross Garagentoröffner und bin rundum zufrieden.Die Installation war wirklich unkompliziert, alles wurde in der App super erklärt und Schritt für Schritt geführt – da kommt man auch ohne Technikkenntnisse definitiv zurecht.Besonders begeistert bin ich von der HomeKit-Integration. Ich kann mein Garagentor jetzt bequem per Sprachbefehl steuern, bekomme Benachrichtigungen, wenn es geöffnet oder geschlossen wird, und sehe jederzeit den aktuellen Status. In der Meross App kann man natürlich auch das Tor steuern, sowie Öffnungzeiten und Alarme für ein offen stehendes Tor einstellen.Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt: Der Reed-Kontakt ist etwas fummelig am Garagentor zu befestigen. Mit etwas Fummeln klappt’s aber auch.Insgesamt ein super Gerät – klare Empfehlung für alle, die ihr Garagentor smart machen wollen, vor allem mit Home-Kit Integration.

Lo hicimos funcionar con un motor Master Door. Antes de comprar vimos por dentro el motor y le tome una foto a la tarjeta y tambien a los datos del modelo. despues le dimos esa información a chat gpt y nos dijo que era muy probable que fuera compatible. nos arriesgamos a comprarlo y si resulto compatible. una maravilla. Si lo recomiendo. Exceptuando por los detalles de q no te avisara si esta abierto o cerrado por aquello de que los sensores funcionan por gravedad si tu porton abre hacia los lados. Y que tiene sus limitaciones con amazon alexa. pero aun asi funciona muy bien.

Ungewöhnlich und sieht auch in der Garage ziemlich blöd aus, aber andererseits ist ein defektes Netzteil ganz schnell durch einen Besuch bei EDEKA oder REAL ersetzt.Dann noch schnell das riesenlange Sensorkabel verlegt (ich habe es nicht komplett abgerollt, da ich nur 1,5 Meter brauchte – aber 5-8 Meter dürfte das irgendwie schon haben!) und das war es schon auch.Da ich noch einen Adapter für den Sensor aus Holz basteln musste (siehe Foto, die Anbringung der Sensoren geht nur mit gegenüberliegenden Schrauben), dauerte die ganze Bastelei und Testerei ungefähr 1,5 Stunden.Die Funktion ist ohne Abbrüche vorhanden gewesen, auch 15 Meter vor meiner Garage konnte ich das Tor per Siri öffnen (Tja, hab’ da noch WLAN ;). Meine Frau konnte es per Siri öffnen, ich konnte es per Wandschalter wieder schließen, per Fernbedienung im Auto wieder öffnen und mit meinem iphone wieder schließen. Alles super!Zwei Dinge sind mir aber aufgefallen, welche nicht so toll sind:Öffne ich per Hand (Wandschalter, Fernbedienung des Herstellers) erhalte ich NICHT immer eine Mitteilung aufs Handy. Manchmal ja, manchmal nein. Wo da der Hase im Pfeffer liegt, weiß ich noch nicht.Und ich kann den Öffnungs-/Schließmechanismus nicht unterbrechen und umkehren.Ich kann z.B. mit dem Wandschalter die Garage öffnen, bei z.B. halboffener Garage noch mal drücken, dann bleibt das Tor stehen und bei nochmaligem Drücken schließt die Garage wieder. Manchmal ganz nützlich, gerade die halboffene Garage nutze ich bei Arbeiten (meine Werkbank steht auch in der Garage) als zusätzliche Lüftung gerne.Kannste aber knicken mit der MERROS – Schaltung bzw. mit der Apple Home App. Hier gibt es nur ganz offen oder ganz zu. Betätigungen während des Öffnungsvorgangs zum Stoppen werden rigoros ignoriert. Bzw. beim Schließen auch.Wären diese beiden Punkte erfüllt, wäre es perfekt.Was noch ausbleibt ist der Langzeit-Test und die Funktion über Apple CarPlay. Letzteres werde ICH kaum brauchen (weil mein Motorrad das nicht hat und nur meine Frau hat im Auto CarPlay, so what? 😉 ).Ich fand das abschließend einen netten und einfachen Einstieg ins Homekit. Eigentlich sind es 4,5 Sterne. Die gibt es aber nicht, von daher muss ich kaufmännisch aufrunden und 5 draus machen.

Ich nutze den Meross Garagentoröffner und bin rundum zufrieden.Die Installation war wirklich unkompliziert, alles wurde in der App super erklärt und Schritt für Schritt geführt – da kommt man auch ohne Technikkenntnisse definitiv zurecht.Besonders begeistert bin ich von der HomeKit-Integration. Ich kann mein Garagentor jetzt bequem per Sprachbefehl steuern, bekomme Benachrichtigungen, wenn es geöffnet oder geschlossen wird, und sehe jederzeit den aktuellen Status. In der Meross App kann man natürlich auch das Tor steuern, sowie Öffnungzeiten und Alarme für ein offen stehendes Tor einstellen.Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt: Der Reed-Kontakt ist etwas fummelig am Garagentor zu befestigen. Mit etwas Fummeln klappt’s aber auch.Insgesamt ein super Gerät – klare Empfehlung für alle, die ihr Garagentor smart machen wollen, vor allem mit Home-Kit Integration.

Ürün montajı ve tanıtımı kolay. Tek eksik kapıyı sonuna kadar açıp yine sonuna kadar kapaması. Yani açmaya bastığınız an istediğiniz yerde durdurup geri kapatamıyorsunuz ve sonuna kadar açılmasını beklemek zorundasınız. Bu durum puan kırmamdaki en etkili sebep, onun haricinde işlevini yapan bir ürün.

Lo hicimos funcionar con un motor Master Door. Antes de comprar vimos por dentro el motor y le tome una foto a la tarjeta y tambien a los datos del modelo. despues le dimos esa información a chat gpt y nos dijo que era muy probable que fuera compatible. nos arriesgamos a comprarlo y si resulto compatible. una maravilla. Si lo recomiendo. Exceptuando por los detalles de q no te avisara si esta abierto o cerrado por aquello de que los sensores funcionan por gravedad si tu porton abre hacia los lados. Y que tiene sus limitaciones con amazon alexa. pero aun asi funciona muy bien.
