Handy tool for prepping ribs
This rib membrane remover makes it a lot easier to get that tough layer off the back of ribs. The stainless steel design feels sturdy, and it’s way quicker than trying to use a knife or paper towel. Cleanup is easy too since it’s just one solid piece.The only thing to note is that it takes a little practice to get the angle right, but once you do, it works really well. Definitely a good tool if you cook ribs often.

This tool is awesome ! It saved me so much time and struggle, with the removal of the membrane from my ribs. I was doing this by hand before I got these, and that was a complete struggle. It took me a moment to get the hang of sliding the tool under the membrane, but once I got it, the rest was easy. The membrane did slip away from me a time or two, and I had to start again (not easy trying to locate it, if if tears or slips away) but overall I gave it 5 stars, because it does work. And my ribs were “super tender” after grilling. I will NEVER do this by hand again. GREAT TOOL !!!

Love the invention as is needed. Only drawback is a bit difficult to get started. All in all much better than my old way!

So I got made fun of by seasoned smokers, but that’s okay. If you are getting older and your grip isn’t what it used to be, these are a game changer. I used to use a paper towel and butter knife but it could take 2-3 minutes to remove the membrane because I couldn’t get a good grip. Used these and had it removed in less than 15 seconds. Best to start in the middle and wrap the membrane around tool before pulling it off, if you just close the tool and pull the membrane tends to slip out. Twist it around like spaghetti on a fork.

This item is not worth a 1-star review. I ordered two and it was a hopeless situation. Went back to using a knife and paper towel to pull the ribs membrane removal off. I had 22 ribs for this rib membrane tool, and it didn’t work at all so disappointed.

Tool feels flimsy and its sharp edges against my hand makes me not want to use it.
I should have known. I am old and I have big hands. This kitchen tool is lightweight, and the grips are small, with some sharp edges, which I did not expect. Unlikely they will harm you. And the tool might fit your hands, but they did not fit mine.
