Godsend for people with wrist problems.
FANTASTIC OPENERAnyone that has a broken wrist, or is healing from one (or has a lot of arthritis) should try this opener. I’ve been using one for about 3 years now. I bought this one for my sister who recently broke her right wrist. I’ve used it on all jars, bottles, and it works great. Just don’t use it on plastic jars, or you might end up with exploded contents all over yourself, as it uses pressure to to hold the jar/item in place until it is opened.

So far – okay
First thing to know, this is a noisy little dude, but that isn’t a deal breaker. I went on the hunt for an unopened jar to test this one, then the face palm – no jars have been bought in a few months because they’ve been so hard for me to open these days, brutal painful to grip much of anything; the few that have been bought are already open so, . . . My next option was to crank something down to over-tight, something I’m notorious for, in spite of/despite the pain – for some reason(s?) it is very hard for me to tell how hard I’m gripping/squeezing – but anyway. Short of a proper canning process boil seal, I can max out the threads if I hold it twixt my legs and tighten with both hands, it’s tighter than I can loosen by hand anyway – and this device popped it right loose like it was nothing. I think there may be a few jars of the larger sizes that this may not open up far enough for, but those are probably rarer than not outside of a restaurant/ at home. Now that this is on deck, I can stop avoiding foods in jars at the grocery store.
