This thing works very well!
I love this jar and bottle opener. The grip is so strong that it makes it easy to open bottles and jars that I usually struggle with due to weakness from arthritis in my hands. I highly recommend it!!

Absolutely wonderful Jar Opener
This is by far the BEST jar opener device I have found. They actually work! I have arthritis in my hands – they are weak and ache. I have wasted a lot of money trying to find something that will help me open jars and bottles. (Yes, I still need to tap around the top of a jar with a spoon to help break the seal – but this is normal.) So simple – nothing fancy. Yes, they are a bit more expensive, but worth every single penny. They are thicker and have better grooves than a normal rubber opener.

Works wonders for removing the face plate from scuba regulators (APEKS XL4 second stages – no idea why APEKS/Aqualung made those things soo dang hard to remove, but this is your answer!)

Works, but why mislead the buyer about its size?
I have just received this jar opener, and while it appears sturdy and helps to open jars with my arthritic hands, I find it absurd that it is described as 5-1/2″ in diameter, when it is actually 5/8″ less than that — 4-7/8″, as can be seen from my photo. Apparently the manufacturers’ advertising describing the opener, stating that the design has not changed in 75 years, omits the fact that the diameter is only 89% of what presumably was once its size. One might describe this as false advertising — certainly it is literally stretching the truth. While it can just fit over the mouths of larger jars, there is not much play when having to center it on the lid. This is why I have given it an overall rating of only 3, rather than something higher, and feel that it somewhat reduces the ease of use (leading me to give it a 4). If it was described honestly, my ratings would be higher.

Handy Aid Jar and Bottle Opener
I love this! I’m 70 years old and can’t open a lot of jars or bottles. With just one twist with the Handy Aid Jar and Bottle Opener and it’s done.I’ve had others, but they were made of a cheap rubber. Would take forever. Glad I bought two.These will last forever. The real test will come with pill bottles.
