Mostly Happy AMZN Customer –
These brakes are identical to TiLite brakes with slight modification….
With the poor reviews for these replacement TiLite brakes, I feel the need to set the record straight. These brakes are identical to the TiLite brakes that came with the $5000+ wheelchair except that I have to flip the arm extension to make them work. Yes, they are plastic and will break. Hell, I bought them to replace two failed TiLite brakes on two different wheelchairs so far!I’m just grateful I don’t have to wait for insurance and the TiLite dealer to replace the broken brake because that takes months (made that mistake the first time). Do I like that I have to pay out of pocket for a product that should be covered by insurance? Absolutely not, but it is the healthcare system we have and love in the good ol’ US of A, richest country in the world – aren’t we exception!? I wish the system were better but it is what it is! Don’t take it out on the TiLite brakes for sale on Amazon. These work identically to the one’s from TiLite.

No recomiendo!!!

I could not get them to function as they should.
I appreciate the comfortable feel and smooth edges, and the locking mechanism initially felt good. However, the long-term quality is lacking. The spring on one lock lost tension after only ten days, causing it to pop open. I also had issues with the braking distance from open to close; they didn’t engage tightly enough, and if adjusted to be tight, the tire rubbed. Overall, these products I found to be not functional well enough, so I cannot recommend them as a good value.

Broke after 2 months
Bought these because I didn’t want to wait for insurance and they broke after 2 months.

Perfect
Fits our T-Lite wheelchair perfectly. A friend told us about this site. Couldn’t be more happier not to have to deal with the wheelchair companies. Easy to install!

Doesn’t lock properly
This is an imitation of the TiLite composite lever brakes. We purchased as a replacement for a broken brake and it does not lock properly, it doesn’t get enough traction against the wheel.

Not worth it
I had similar breaks for 8 years on this wheelchair. I replaced them when one broke and these new ones lasted about a month. I have since bought metal ones.

Great brakes but the “return spring” only lasts a few months. My work-around is a rubber band (silicone wrist band) that sets the mechanism in neutral position.
