A lifesaver with my hypermobility issues
I have a medical disorder that, asking other things, makes my skin more fragile and stretchy than it should be and my joints weak and prone to hyperextension and dislocation.Because of this, opening twist-off lids is really painful (and often impossible) for me to do without hurting myself. Normally, I could get around this by asking one of the other people I was living with to help, but that’s embarrassing and annoying. I bought this when I first started living in my own a few years ago, and it has been such a lifesaver.When I use this, the lid doesn’t slide around or tear at the skin on my palms, so I don’t have to use as much force or use my wrist to overcompensate for my hands’ weakness. It doesn’t take up much space at all, and the silicone is of good enough make and quality that even after several years of steady use, there are no visible signs of wear and tear.I like it enough that I’m thinking of probably buying a couple more so I can keep one in my purse for on-the-go use, and one to leave at my parents house for when I visit.

Really comes in handy. Helps to open water bottles etc. I have one in the kitchen, one in the bathroom to help me open my prescription bottles and I always keep one in the car. Handy little gadget Well worth the money.

Best for opening stubborn bottles
These are absolutely the best openers for stubborn bottles. I first discovered them in a shop for seniors, and have both sizes. They are expensive but so much better than the flimsy thin alternatives.

Great for arthritic hands
I bought this for my 80-year old mother who has arthritic hands, and it has been terrific. She had struggled to open some pill bottles, but this has made it much easier. It works for prescription and over-the-counter and bottles, as well as water bottles and other small jars.

Finally, a well-made, sturdy, good-gripping tool for opening bottles and small jars. Photo shows size. I am still hunting for something similar for average-sized ounce jars, but this is great for soda bottles, ketchup bottles, etc. **This is the 4th product that I’ve tried and the first to work.

Didn’t work for me
My hand OT recommended this for opening twist top bottles, but it doesn’t help at all. A simple piece of Dycem works better.

A must-have for weaker or arthritic hands
I bought two of these about 15 years ago, and they have held up perfectly and still look brand new. I recently recommend them to a friend, who bought both the smaller and larger ones (2 of each), and she was telling me how much she appreciated the recommendation and how much she loves them. I decided to order a second small and large one to give as a gift, and can’t recommend them enough since they will last a lifetime and have a better grip than anything else I have ever used.
