Works well once you solder the address lines.
I saw the review of the high failure rate and experienced the same failure. I then noticed that the address pins were floating and that if you want to have address 20, jump all the address pins on the back to gnd. After that, I had no failures. So far, they are working well.I am still testing.I am using this to read a Halleffect sensor array.

(Not) NOW a bad failure rate…. Dropped a few more stars due to failure
UPDATE:I’m now dropping my rating to 2 Stars as these are failing after 3- 5 days of continuous use. From all 10 units, only two are still working correctly. FYI – I’m putting in 5v and using all 16 pins as INPUT for hall sensors. If you’re going to get these, you need to do your own QA for a few weeks first.PREVIOUS:I’ve tried a number of PCF8575 PCBs here on Amazon and these are probably the most consistent with a failure rate of only 20-25%. YES, I know it should be a failure of 0%, but to be honest… 20-25% is the best I have found on Amazon. I needed 6 boards and I was able to find 6 good ones out of the10 that were shipped. For other companies selling the same ‘type’ of PCF8575 I would have to order more than 10 pieces.Just expect that the ‘actually’ price for these boards is actually double the cost and you will be fine.PS: The address for an opened (no shorts on A0, A1, or A2) board should be 32 (HEX:0x20 or BIN:100000). If you get 39 (0x27) you know you have a bad board.

Unreliable
So far 3 DOA and 1 last for a couple of hours. Avoid
