Durable comfort for loved ones
This gel mattress pad fit both a regular double bed and a standard hospital bed. Provided comfort for an ailing elderly patient. It has elastic straps in the corners to keep it in place. Wipes clean, easy to disinfect if needed, and very well made – heavy duty. I’ve encountered many Drive products in the assisted living facility with which I became familiar. Drive products are widely used, durable, and high quality. This particular pad is being sold here at a very good price point. It is heavy, though, and transporting is a bit unwieldy (while still in the shipping box). Out of the box, one can “hug” the folded pad and it is more easily moved.

HOT topper, sweating comfortably though
I’m bedbound and disabled, and my mattress on my home hospital bed was getting super hard, so I ordered this mattress topper, to keep me cool, to keep me comfortable, and because it was the right size to fit the mattress. It’s made pretty well, there’s no chance of the gel leaking, the straps are high quality and will keep it on the mattress for ages. There’s no odd or off-putting smell or anything, like you’d get with memory foam. But, let me tell you this much:THIS THING IS HOT. I have been using it for a week or so, and I have been ROASTING every time I’ve slept. Just drenched in sweat. Yes, my caretakers and I are sure it’s on correctly. I just have a sheet on top of me, not even a blanket, and the air conditioning is on. It’s not cooling whatsoever. I have to take a star off for that.Otherwise, I’m sinking into it in a good way, and I’m in far, far less pain than with just the mattress. Is it worth the money? Most likely not as much as I paid for it, but if you can catch it on sale, go for it. Mine was a bit of an emergency situation, and the Sam Vimes Greater Boots Theory applied. Pay more now or end up paying way more later, essentially.

Works well for my partially paralyzed elderly dad
My dad is partially paralyzed from a stroke and we have to be very careful when he’s sleeping that he doesn’t develop bed sores. This gel mattress overlay has worked very well for him. It does have to be replaced every year or so because it loses its shape, but it has worked well. Also, I ordered this replacement on August 1 and didn’t expect to receive it for at least a week, so I couldn’t believe it when it arrived 2 days later on August 3! Talk about quick shipping!

Very Comfortable
I bought this for my mother who spends most of her time in bed. She received a new hospital bed in January, and it came with a standard mattress. She complained every day about hip or back pain. I bought this topper and put it on her bed and the complaints stopped immediately. She sleeps comfortably throughout the night now. A great buy!
