    Perfect!
Makes a huge difference for massages at home. An unexpected benefit came after surprise retina detachment surgery. Set this up on my desk and perfect for keeping my head positioned for surgery recovery.

Great Cushion Makes All the Difference
This is the most comfortable cushion of all the recovery equipment I assembled for the vitrectomy operation. I had read how difficult recovery could be staying in a face down position so I also purchased 1) a massage chair with a similar horseshoe-shaped head rest, 2) a table-top horseshoe-shaped head rest and borrowed a 3) massage table with a hole in the middle. This Master Massage Head Rest was the best and softest head rest. The memory foam does make a difference especially if you are trying to sleep at night and if you are spending 6 to 8 hours lying face down. Worth every cent. I don’t think I would feel as comfortable given how difficult staying in a face down position is for long periods. The opening of this head rest was also just right for me, big enough so it didn’t bother my face so much and I could see my ipad to watch movies. The opening of the other equipment I bought was still usable but smaller and the cushion not as soft especially after 20 minutes. The other equipment were generic, no really big brand so maybe that’s why they weren’t as soft and comfortable.Other pluses: I could adjust the height easily. As to durability, I have only been using if for two weeks thus I only rated it 4 stars because I haven’t had it long enough but it’s made of metal and looks durable. The only thing is your mattress has to be thick enough. My mattress was only around 4 inches when the description said it has to be 7 inches so the head rest was higher than the mattress. I solved it by putting another mattress (we have an extra one in the house) on top and the extension was just put in between. It was perfect. For fellow sufferers of vitrectomy operation, it’s also a good idea to buy or rent a massage chair since no matter how good the mattress top head extension, your back will hurt if it stays in the same position. But my suggestion is if you have a massage chair, maybe buy an extra head rest from Master Massage and change up the cushion in the chair. I wasn’t able to buy an extra cushion (I live overseas) so I had to transfer the Master Massage head rest to the chair to feel comfortable in the chair which was a bother. To be fair, the massage table with hole, which I borrowed, was also good for keeping my back relatively comfortable. BUT after the second day the hard edges of the hole (which I presume to be part of the metal part of the best) started to bother me. I don’t know if it’s because the leatherette had been wearing thin around the edges because it was already a year old so I could feel the hard edge. I also prefer the extension to the mattress from Master Massage over the massage table because I can read my tablet or use my phone through the hole unlike the massage bed with the hole, where you just go there to sleep. The Master Massage head rest doesn’t have a an arm rest below it though which was fine for me since a table under it really worked much better. It was big enough so I could put other stuff — i pad, phone, water bottle, kleenex in it and also rest my arms on it when it feels cramped.

    Great product
This is a great headrest. A little expensive in my opinion but pretty comparative to others for price. Highly quality and durable. Can be difficult to tighten enough so it won’t slip down. Have used it many times

    For the price it’s great
I give it a three, because as some of the other reviews mention the knobs for adjusting it are not that easy to use, and some of the screws were stripped out. It definitely beats face into the mattress for couples massages! And when you get the hang of adjusting it, it is about what you expect for the price point. The cushion is comfortable, but a little softer than I prefer, if you are resting on it for a long time, it can feel to soft. Overall it works great for the price point, as a casual use for date night! I wouldn’t want to use it every day, because it is a little to soft, and the hassle of adjusting it would be more annoying that I’d want for every day use.

    This thing is amazing!
Clearly it’s not professional grade. But just for personal use, it’s pretty awesome. We’ve been under the COVID quarantine for a couple months now and I was getting a bit desperate for a massage, but it was really awkward when my husband had me lie down to give me one, because my face was squished into the mattress. I hesitated to buy this because of the price but I took the plunge and I’m glad I did. My husband and I both use it now. It really makes the whole process more comfortable and aligns your neck nicely. Highly recommend!

    Not high enough
The product description states this will adjust to a mattress as thick as 16 inches. Mine is 14 inches, and I could not raise the head-piece high enough to clear the edge of the mattress. I needed at least another inch of tubing, perhaps 2 inches if I don’t want my throat pressing against the stiff edge of my mattress. I will be returning this.

We have a really thick mattress… however it’s 15″ high and this is advertised as being compatible with up to 16″ mattresses. Simply not the case. Even extended beyond being able to screwing the slide poles in place – instead having them rest on top of the screws, it’s still way too low to be comfortable.

Très bien! Le coussin est fait pour les grosses faces, mais ça fonctionne aussi pour les plus petites!
