Charming and durable!
I needed a towel bar that was KID PROOF. With 5 children using the same bathroom, I installed this bar to withstand grabs and rough hand drying while satisfying my penchant for antique brass. It was easy to install and is SO stable that it’s not going ANYWHERE. The look says charming while the function says “try me.”

Pretty, but I think not super sturdy
OK, I’m a big guy, and our house has had other grab bars since my parents were alive. Time to add a few more, I figure.My preference is for a grab bar that is SOLID, and the others I’ve gotten in the past have the flange attached to the tube with a very robust weld. That doesn’t seem to be the case for this one. Rather, there’s rather a light weld inside the tube holding a threaded plate inside.I can now see why the product description doesn’t mention ANY weight capacity, and comes with drywall anchors and thin screws. I’d hate to have to pull myself off the floor with only this, or have it be the only thing that stops me from a fall at the top of the stairs.I think the strong point of this item is for a person to keep their balance, without putting undue weight on it. Which is usually how grab bars are used, but I’m disappointed in this one and am disinclined to trust it after assembling and assessing it.It is a very pretty shiny gold color, but quite thin metal, and I find I don’t have the confidence that brass that thin, and a small welded plate, will be even as strong as the somewhat wimply drywall anchors provided. Sorry, but two stars deducted.
