Customers say

Customers praise the headphones’ typical Audio-Technica craftsmanship, excellent battery life with 40 hours of playback on a single charge, and good value for money. The sound quality and noise cancellation receive mixed reviews, with some finding them decent while others say they don’t have noise cancellation at all. Comfort and functionality also get mixed feedback – while some find them extremely comfortable, others report ear pain, and while some say they work pretty well, others mention only the left side works. Bluetooth connectivity is another mixed aspect, with some reporting excellent connectivity while others experience frequent disconnections.

Great sound, starting to show age after 3 years
I’ve had these headphones for over three years, and they still sound great. They’re lightweight and only start to feel uncomfortable after very long sessions without breaks (around five hours for me). The ear cups are just now starting to show their age, but replacements are easy to find online. If I could change anything, I’d love the option to use USB-C for audio and have more control over how they auto-connect to Bluetooth devices. They sometimes connect to random devices in my house, play the confirmation tone, then disconnect from that new device, and play the disconnect confirmation tone once more—briefly interrupting whatever I’m listening to, which is pretty annoying. That said, they’ve been durable, reliable, and I can easily see myself using them for another three years. I’d only replace them if I lost or damaged them.

Champagne sound on a prosecco budget
These offer fantastic sound for serious enthusiasts on a budget. Nevermind noise cancelling – it can only degrade sound quality and add to the cost. And the specs on these are impressive. Hi-res LDAC connectivity over BT. 45mm neodymium magnet drivers for accurate mids and highs and well-controlled bass down to 15Hz(!). User-friendly app and controls. The sound quality easily matches my Sennheiser 660S, which now retail at over twice the price.

They’re solid headphones, but maybe not $200+ solid.
They’re great headphones and don’t have any issues, but I do have a couple nitpicks. First, I read tons of reviews from all over the web and most said these are very loud, to the point of possible discomfort for some. They’re loud, but no more than average. Next, once the battery gets low-ish, the Bluetooth connection cuts in and out like a skipping CD. That’s normal since there’s not enough power, but it happens before the low battery alert. Otherwise they’re clean and clear and very comfy.

Pc Users might have a common problem, easy fix
Pc users: If you are running into a problem were the headphones sound scratchy, it is because of the voice input. There is a way to turn it off and it boosts the sound quality to what they are ment to be. Research how to turn it off it is different depending on your operating system.Sound Quality is absolutely amazing.Definitely worth every pennyPerfect over ear headphones

As expected from Audio Technica, amazing!
I am not a headphone expert in anyway but had always some fascination with hearing music at gold volume level using cans, these pair is Just what I expected from Audio Technica, I had them for a little over a week and live them more everyday, I’m sure after a month the audio will be what I really like, I tested them with a Fiio M21 and a Fosi Audio K7, the audio is impressive and when I had the equalized to my taste on different kinds of music, I was amazed with the sound coming from this Bluetooth set. The battery life is perfect so far, they charge very quickly, 15 minutes of charge with a fast charge Anker charger gave me more than 3 hours, and the battery level was good! I also tested the difference between Bluetooth and using the provided cable, the audio is not as good as the one from their older brother, the wired ATH-M50x but that was expected and they will not be used in the same way, I will definitely recommend these headphones for everyday use and even for HiFi enthusiasts, at a great price, these headphones are a good deal!

“Like New”, except covered in dandruff
I purchased a renewed pair which was listed as “Like New”, which I assumed meant the packaging would be damaged, maybe some scratches. The headphones I received were COVERED in dandruff and ear wax. I really wished I could have at least tried them to see if I wanted to order another pair, but honestly was too disgusting.Update: ordered a new pair, and I love them.I am small and worried these would be too loose, the smallest setting fit is decent. Some fatigue after wearing for multiple hours, but I think that would happen with any headphones of this size.Call quality is good, I got these in part to make hands free calls, and have heard that I sound even clearer than when I make a normal phone call.Sound quality is excellent! Comparable to the quality of a wired set. I didn’t think I was a sound snob, but I I previously tried the Jabra 85h and the sound quality was atrociously crunchy, and made music unlistenable. I do some audio editing for film and I think the ATH-M50xBT2 will do well, especially since they can be wired if needed. It was very important to me that these have no active noise cancellation- for me, ANC causes unpleasant pressure and nausea. The Jabra 85 forcibly turned on ANC for all calls even when you have ANC switched off, very annoying. I also eliminated Sony XM4/5 from my options also because I’ve read their ANC is on automatically each time they turn on.The ATH-M50xBT2 cans are large and enclose my ears for excellent passive noise cancelling. As an added bonus, no ANC means the battery life can be MUCH longer than competitors (haven’t tested personally, but makes sense). Battery life is important to me, I was very reluctant to get yet another electronic that I have to charge. I like that these can be used wired even if the battery is dead.I like that there are physical buttons, and an on/off indicator light (Jabra 85h turned off by twisting the cans and there was no visual indication of on/off, very confusing and easy to leave on unintentionally). I specifically wanted no gesture or tap controls, which I find hard to control/easy to trigger. Sometimes simpler is better. All in all, excellent quality and design for the price.

What can I say… there’s no other words that can describe the sound quality and superior build structure. Those 45mm drivers delivers whatever you ask them to do without distortion or clipping. The included AK4331 DAC inside M50xBT2 alone is enough to explain how powerful M50xBT2 sounds like.Want Bass? It delivers… want Treble? It delivers. Anything you throw at it either through Equalizer or AT Connect App EQ will DELIVER!!LDAC? It is included and supported! Leaves wired headphones to the dust. What more do you need?I hate wired headphones and ANC so… M50xBT2 works for perfectly for me👌

Very good sound signature, and sound is very neutral , good for music and stuff, but for those with eyewear, need to take into account the clam force.

It is not as what i had in mind. But it is still a good pair. I still like it overall. Its my daily companion to and from home and work. Need to play with the EQ to get the sound you prefer.

I already owned the wired version of this headset and was thoroughly satisfied with it, simply needed the same but with wireless functionality and a microphone. This is basically what this is. Audio quality is excellent and the 50 hour battery life sometimes makes me forget this needs to be recharged at all. Would recommend!
