It works amazingly well, and with little effort.
Some jar lids refuse to come off without a struggle. Over the years I’ve tried using rubber bands, tapping the jar lid on the counter, and using a big pair of pliers. I wish I had known about this product years ago.It works amazingly well. Simply put it on the lid, then lift slowly and gently. As soon as you hear the vacuum release, stop lifting. Unscrewing the jar lid is now easy.The first time I used it I lifted too hard. As a result, I bent the lid, and the lid no longer fit on the jar properly. That was my fault for not using it correctly. As I said, lift slowly and gently. Stop lifting the instant you hear the vacuum release. It really doesn’t require much effort.

Right Tool for Vacuum Sealed Jars
I do not have weak hands and can open most jars, but still struggled with certain jars like salsa and pickle jars with edges that are thinner than others and with a raised section in the center that indicates a vacuum seal. I initially purchased one of the openers that grips the edge in three points (KUHN RIKON ) and twists the lid to open. It worked well on some lids, but not the ones I was having trouble with, so I returned it an tried the Jar Key. I was pleasently surprised that it does the job for less than one-fourth the price! It works by lifting the edge just enough to break the seal so that you can easily twist it open.

As an 81 year-old, living alone, I often struggle to open jars. I tried another opener, but it was too large for my hand to grasp and turn. This, however, is just perfect! I wish I had found it before now. So simple, so effective!

Fantastic jar opener
I’ve had one of these (or something exactly like it) for about 20 years, and it is a lifesaver when it comes to opening jars. I bought these for two of my coworkers and they love them. We’re all getting a little older and starting to have issues gripping and opening jars. I highly recommend having one in your kitchen.

This is so simple. It gently lifts the bottom of the jar lid, breaking the vacuum. Once the vacuum is broken, it is easy to open the jar.Why did it take so long to invent this tool?This thing is fantastic.

This ,Opens pickel jars , jam jars ,etc. Very well.Just put it on jar lid edge, lift gentlly … then you hear a little plip sound as jar seal becomes loose.Then you are able to turn your lid open easily, and enjoy your food.I use to struggle to get in jars. Felt weak and discussed, and hungry. As I put the jar over to side till some one stronger came by to open it. But with this , “IT IS your strong person jar opener when there is no strong person there, because it works.
