Customers say
Customers find the smart lock to be the best on the market with incredible battery life and easy installation. The palm recognition feature receives mixed feedback, with some finding it fast while others say it’s complicated to use. The lock’s functionality and lag performance also get mixed reviews, with some reporting it only works occasionally and others noting slow operation. While some customers consider it worth the money, others feel it’s useless at its high price point.

UPDATE: Turned out GREAT! You *CAN* duplicate keys and it offers so much smarts!
This product turned out to be ***really impressive**** and great! It’s a unique marvel of multiple products in one device: smart lock with keypad, palm reading, physical key, connected doorbell, digital peephole AND security camera with AI.If you struggle to record your hands, I have a suggestion. See video (uploaded low res for privacy). Start with your fingers on the sensor at the same angle of the palm reader (top of device) and slowly raise your hand while keeping the same angle vs the reader. At some point it will register/recognize it. This process became super simple for the whole family to register all hands. At the location it recognizes the palm you can then make a mark on the door frame with a pencil to help you remember the exact location and angle to use next time. Simple and easy. Also, I read information on the product page, and some reviews likely repeating the page info, that you cannot duplicate the keys “for security reasons”. ***BUT*** it turns out you can copy the keys as I did at the local hardware store, nothing different to other keys out there. This may seem like an issue but for us it was crucial to have the reassurance that we can each have a physical key to open the lock in an emergency if the battery or motor fails (it hasn’t). So yes you can easily copy the keys (they include 2 with the device). The smart notifications detecting people at the door and recordings you can watch from anywhere and the autolock, state update and temporal passwords are already worth the price. On my first review, I was distressed that it required calling customer support to get the round faceplate to install on the door and that the customer support was not easy to reach. However customer support did reach out and did all they could to help me get the round faceplates quickly. Kudos to the eufy team!I encourage eufy to improve the product and communication in a number ow ways to make it even more awesome:Have better information on keys being able to be duplicated if needed, nothing to fear as every other similar lock out there will let you do that and this is an asset that could turn customers away fearing only 2 keys are included. Also, try to include all the right hardware in the box to avoid the issue of extra calls. Finally better support training to resolve and escalate things quickly.Overall, a great impressive product and team and I look forward to keeping using this device and learning more about the ways Eufy innovates in this space.

Excellent product and fast detection
This is a wonderful product. It has greatly simplified getting into the house. Installing it and connecting it to the eufy app and the home system was straightforward. Palm detection is fast and awesome. Haven’t had to recharge the battery yet, but I do like that there is a backup battery in place. Product is solidly built, the key hole cover does seem to be loose and it does seem to leave traces wear / oil when using the numbers to unlock, so just keep that in mind (wipe the numbers every so often if using them)

Worth the buy
I don’t have a metta base, and have installed this with a storm door. I’m sure I’m losing some functionality, but this works perfect for what I was wanting to do with my home.Lock is perfect, battery life seems long, not complicated to remove it to charge. Palm recognition is sometimes complicate, but all my family members seem to get it.I plan to come up with the solution around the storm door, as I live in MO and it’s nice to have open breezes in the house when it’s cooler.

Quality control problems, but a great smart lock if you’re lucky enough to get one problem-free
When this lock is functional, it’s really nice. Unfortunately the first one we got from Amazon had a glitch, where it needed to be hard reset (rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries removed from the unit) each time we wanted to add new palm prints. We engaged Eufy support, which fairly promptly got us a replacement unit. The replacement unit was absolutely terrible. The auto-lock feature wouldn’t work (even the emergency failsafe that is supposed to engage after 5 minutes), the battery would drain in 2 days, the unit would randomly go to sleep and we wouldn’t be able to use PINs or palm prints, and the thing would seemingly reboot randomly. Engaging with Eufy support on the terrible unit was much slower and a big waste of time. However, the third time was the charm, and when they finally did replace the unit everything was working as it should. Important to note though – on all three units, it took between 3-10 tries to get the unit to work with the Eufy Homebase 3. Thankfully that only needs to be done once. It might be an issue of quickly putting the back plate on after scanning the QR code, before the whole process times out.Edit: I’m raising my rating to 4 stars because the third unit has been great, has an excellent battery life, and reliably works as it’s supposed to. It was a little ridiculous that we got two defective units in a row, but Eufy’s customer support kept working with us and did eventually get us a nice working lock, so it’s nice that they stand behind the quality of their products.

Love this lock
Install simpleSet up easy! This is a great smart lock and my 2nd one from Eufy. I moved my regular keypad to back door and purchased this one for the front. It allows you to out in both left and right palms, it also has the key pad and a door bell button which hides the key access. It has a dual battery the 1st is a rechargeable the 2nd is 4 double A’s that allow the key pad to be used if the main drains down. I love the app and that I can view the video of the back of the lock or on my phone. This is another great product from EUFY!

It’s not perfect. The Palm reader can be slow at times, and it does not have open door detection. But I’m still going to give it 5 stars because it was simple to install, has a good battery life, and at its core works well. The pin takes seconds or we can unlock it as we pull up to the house from the app.

This is a great lock. Easy to install and set up. It seems to work very well. Recognizes our family palms and not others that I’ve tested with.I like the auto lock after a certain amount of time and you can define a time frame to do this so throughout the day you are not constantly unlocking the door.It only uses the key it came with. Would be nice if it can be rekeyed to match the other house doors. I have not tried to get spare keys made yet so not sure that is an option. The button that covers the key hole and emergency power plug keeps falling open. This is also the doorbell button so it tends to be used regularly and just does not fit tight after you open it. DON’T OPEN IT IF YOU DONT HAVE TO! LOL

So far I’m very impressed and it’s a very good product. The App was easy to setup . I had a bit of a problem with the key unlocking door but I think I got it sorted out.I haven’t set up the the palm entry yet, but soonI love the fact that it comes with a rechargeable battery and has a backup as well.I highly recommend this Lock.

I had a lot of high hopes and our family was very excited for this palm scanner. Instead, it turned into a full day of frustration, research and chats with support because after the installation process, it failed at the very first step of Calibrating. We’ve tried every possible solution in existence and nothing worked. It’s essentially a paperweight if you can’t get it to calibrate. During our search we found that it is indeed a common issue with these devices, specifically among the Eufy brand of smart locks. We have decided to return this defective and poorly thought out smart lock and will opt for a brand we used previously without issues. Disappointing.
