Customers say
Customers find the glucose meter effective for diabetic pets, with one noting it works well with smaller animals. However, the functionality, accuracy, and ease of use receive mixed feedback, with some saying it works great while others report it doesn’t work and isn’t accurate enough. Moreover, the device requires more blood than expected, and customers find the sample size too small. The value for money is also mixed, with some finding it inexpensive while others disagree.

Don’t Waste your Money!
It’s very cheap. The battery cover would not even fit after the batteries were installed. I ended up rubberbandeing the cover. Of course, our wonderful Amazon would not allow it to be returned because it is an animal product! Geesh!!

Great price, good construction, Fairly easy to use.
Great starter kit at a great price for diabetic dog. It really works with a small amount of blood. Note if you can keep dog calm and steady. But that’s up to you. Once blood sample is in strip the countdown starts with a quick reading of the dog blood sugar reading. A plus for a diabetic dog to prolong his life while he is taking 2 times a day of insulin shots. Monitoring his high and low blood sugars. Only cons are wish it had a bigger bag/ case it came with and only has 10 test strips. Would recommend ordering the 50 pack of test strips as its at more of a decent price than the 25 test strips.

Great for diabetic pets but not easy to get sample
My dog recently developed diabetes. The meter works well and is not very expensive. The down side is that the sample prick is to small to sample blood from the ear. Have tried paw and lip with limited success. Vet gave me some #8 needles for ear stick which works but is not as easy to use. Wish they had a better way to get blood sample.

Tested Accurate
When I took my diabetic cat to vet, I had them check the accuracy of this. This glucometer read 376. The vets glucometer read 396 and the Chem 10 bloodwork came back with glucose of 386 so this was within 10 points just like the one the vet used. I can’t get the lancet device to work right but that may just be me. Replacement strips are reasonably priced too.

Does NOT work on cats!!!
It doesn’t work at all. The glucometer does but the lancets don’t get a sample size big enough to read. I have tried with my husband together on multiple occasions to get a sample with no luck so I resorted to lancing her myself. It worked but when I stuck the sample in it just TURNED OFF. I thought it timed out but nope it kept doing it. It did not count down qt all, just turned off. I tried again. Same thing. I stupidly bought another one of these and tried AGAIN. SAME PROBLEM!!! It doesn’t actually work! Now I have two that don’t work, can’t be returned and can’t be refunded. I am a fool.
