Major glow-up from an Echo-5
I upgraded from the Show 5 and wow, this is a whole different level. The quality is solid, the display is crisp, and it doesn’t lag or glitch like my 5 used to. The screen is way bigger and more responsive, which makes everything easier to use. And the music playback? Straight fire. It fills the room and actually sounds good — not just “smart speaker good,” like good good. It looks sleek on my counter too — definitely a visual upgrade. Worth every penny.

Love the upgrade!
I really like my Echo Show 8—it’s super handy and fun to use. I love that it shows song lyrics while playing music (hello, kitchen karaoke!), and the sound quality is surprisingly good for its size.Video calling is a great bonus, and the screen is clear and easy to see. Whether I’m listening to music, checking the weather, or chatting with family, it does everything I need—and looks nice on the counter too.Highly recommend!

Wish I would have gotten this a long time ago. Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this device!
I absolutely love my echo show age 3rd generation! Perhaps legal upgrade someday to a bigger one, but for now this is perfect for my table next to my bed. I can use it to watch Netflix and all kinds of other things you can watch on their different apps. You can get on the Internet. You can listen to music you can listen to books I mean I’ve gotten so much use out of it and I just absolutely love. I can’t believe I didn’t have one sooner. I highly recommend this. I plan on hooking my security camera and they will also integrate with this item . I’m pretty sure it will hook up to a smart Home items especially they will if they work with Alexa. It’s easy to set up. I’m also buying a battery stand for it so I can take it with me when it gets warmer out outside if I want to when I go to sit on the porch or whatever I do outside. The music sounds great on it! The quality of watching movies or videos on it is great also. You also configure it with your Alexa app, which is very easy to do. It’s pretty much self-explanatory when you’re setting it up. it’s easy personalized for the things that you would like on there. I’ve spent some time going through all the little things that has on that you can do and it’s just there’s so much to do. I can’t even name everything. It’s great. I recommend that wouldn’t get that you know Jesus smart devices. I plan on hooking the external Bluetooth speaker up to it also. Corino, it’s very easy to ask questions like you on on any other electric device. The connectivity is great besides it just perfect. and like I said, it’s very easy to use very easy to set up and the controls on top of it or very easy. There’s only a few of them to do so there’s the volume up and down and the on button and the little switch if you’d like to turn the camera off, so you know if you feel more comfortable, not having the camera on oh and also you can use it as a camera in the room that it’s in and watch it from your phone from the Alexa app. It’s great that way if I think someone’s in my room, I can just turn on the camera from my phone app and see if someone’s in there or what’s going on in there. And it has two way talking on it if you wanna talk to the person in the room.. And really it’s not very heavy at all. I’m excited to get the battery to put on it to see how it is the carried around like that so when I go outside, you can have it also. Great device the great device for sure I wish I would’ve gotten a lot sooner.

A step up from a glitchy Show 5 — but I don’t like the new complex touchscreen gesture system.
I purchased this Echo Show 8 to replace a Echo Show 5 which was several years old and had a glitchy screen. I waited until I could get a good deal during Prime Days. I love the bigger, bright screen. The Sound quality is much better (I assume because the speakers are bigger). It is in my bedroom right next to my bed, and is the Echo device I use the most by far. I decided to spend some extra money and buy a stand, and I’m glad I did.Set up was somewhat complex — mainly the tutorial for the new touchscreen controls. I was happy that my existing routines all seem to work great with no adjustments. I use my Echo to turn on various lights (using smartplugs) in several rooms. I frequently use it as a timer for laundry, cooking, and as a reminder for appointments or things to do.I appreciate how much the screen dims at night when the lights are out. There are lots of features of the Alexa system that I like and use, but that applies to all Alexa devices.I fully DISLIKE the new touchscreen gestures system. While I could handle almost everything with a single finger and single touches on the Show 5, the new operating system for the Show 8 requires one touch to select something on the screen, then a double-touch to activate it. With a single touch, the button or item is selected and the Echo says what it is (like “Continue Button”). Then, it is annoying to have to do a double-tap to activate the button. What used to take a single tap, now takes three — one to select, and two more to activate. To scroll, it requires 3 fingers, not just one. There are all kinds of complex finger movements and touches, some requiring FOUR fingers on the screen. That’s just awkward and hard to remember. Even after doing the tutorial, I don’t remember most of the controls. Thankfully, I use voice control most of the time. I suppose I may get used to it eventually, but I think it is more likely that I just won’t use all of those complex touchscreen controls.Mine has a weird glitch — it often looks like a part of the screen gets touched when I haven’t touched it. Occasionally, Alexa will unexpectedly say the time and date, or act like I touched the News button, when I didn’t touch anything. Also, it will often click as though I touched the screen, but I didn’t. I don’t know if this is a hardware problem and I should return it, but in the few days I’ve had it, this glitch seems to be happening less often.Just to put this review in context; I am a long-time Prime Member and Echo user — I got my first Echo pre-release (that big, tall cannester-shaped one). I even made some suggestions for functions that were eventually added. I now have my new Show 8 in my bedroom, a Dot in my kitchen, a Show 5 at my office, and my adult son has his own Show 5

I’m absolutely loving my Alexa, I have the echo show 8 in glacier white. I have the original 2018 HomePods that I’ve been using since 2018 and they just have let me down repeatedly. Apple hasn’t really added anything new at all nor have they continued innovating the HomePod line like Amazon has with their various echo “Alexa” enabled devices. I cost ask my HomePods much without it telling me I can’t, but Alexa on the other hand has an answer for pretty much everything and that is soooo much better to have around. The sound quality of the device is actually amazing. Having only ever used apples HomePod and seeing the quality of friends and family’s older echos and google homes, I always thought HomePod was the top. But echo show 8 is literally on par with a HomePod. It truly lives up to the “spatial audio” name. The screen quality is actually pretty good for being a basic screen. It’s overall pretty responsive to the point it’s not annoying to use.The built in camera quality is pretty good as well! Only thing it suffers with is being placed in direct sunlight. But when positioned correctly it’s a pretty good picture quality. The built in smarts of Alexa are way beyond what I’m use too. I purchased a fire tv 4K max as well and have found out that you can control the entire thing hands free, and not just basic on/off, find X…show. But you can ask Alexa to scroll left/right/down/up and ask her to select items onscreen. I can be all nice a cozy in my blanket wrapped up and get Alexa to click the next episode button for me…… worth the price of all of it right there! Siri could never!I’m impressed with Alexa and absolutely cannot wait for Alexa+ to make it even better.

This Echo Show 8 completely exceeded my expectations. The sound quality is amazing—it actually feels like a mini home speaker system with rich bass and crisp clarity. Whether I’m playing music, watching videos, or just listening to the news, it sounds fantastic. The display is super sharp and bright, and it automatically adjusts to the lighting in the room, which makes it perfect for any time of day. Alexa feels faster and smarter, and the responses are almost instant.I use it every day—for checking weather, playing music, making video calls, controlling lights, and even watching YouTube and recipe videos. It’s become such a natural part of my daily routine. The built-in smart home hub is also a huge plus—makes managing everything so simple. It looks clean and modern too. The Charcoal finish gives it a premium feel. Honestly, this is probably the most useful and enjoyable smart device I own. I would 100% recommend it to anyone!

Me encantó, es muy útil y fácil de usar. La uso para poner música, alarmas, recordatorios y hasta controlar otros dispositivos. Reconoce muy bien la voz y responde rápido. Sin duda, hace más cómodas las tareas diarias.
