One of the best aids I have found for hand impairment
I recently suffered a spinal cord injury that has left me with my predominant arm and hand paralyzed and my other hand impaired. My occupational therapist showed me these and i thought they might work. They do work and work very well. I am now, for the first time in months able to use utensils to feed myself both at home and in restaurants.I wouldn’t have thought 6oz of weight and different position would have made such a huge difference but it does and has truly made my life a little easier and dignified. Once they have been bent into the right position they offer a sturdy fork use and easy to use spoon. They wash up great and don’t get dishwasher stained. I have only had them 2 weeks but they are proving to be one of the best aids I have found so far. I have contacted the manufacturer about being able to buy the spoons and forks individually so I have them for use without having to have them washed after every use. These are a great value both from a life perspective and cost.

Lived up to my expectations!
Very comfortable to use out of the box. I got immediate relief of the lessening of my hand tremors by using these weighted utensils!

Proper grasp
Only problem is getting used to method of holding utensil. Best aim to mouth done with fist grasp as opposed to normal finger and thump “pinch.”

The weight can make a mess
I have limited mobility in my wrists. I really liked that these were not pre-bent and I could bend them to the angle that works best for me. However, they are really heavy. I have no problem using them but they fall A LOT! They tip over bowls. They fall from plates. The weight is just so lopsided.

Would have been a great product
Ordered the set because my wife suffers from Parkinson’s and has trouble with conventional utensils. I ordered the set because I thought it would be beneficial.. Quality construction, great, easy to grip handles and the ability to bend the fork and spoons to facilitate her feeding herself. Unfortunately, the weight of the utensils was a bit much for her limited strength, so I have to return them. No fault at all of the product. Her strength is simply too weak for her to hold them. Seeking a lighter weight alternative.

Son pesados. Para una persona con párkinson es bastante útil, creo que es más cómodo para ellos que un cubierto normal aunque no desaparece el movimiento por completo pero les ayuda bastante.

It was difficult to bend the fork initially, but my husband had no problem.
