Great product.
I got this fold-uo handicapped grabbar for the Masterbath water closet. I was having a hip replacement surgery, and needed a grab bar on both sides of the toilet. Onone side the standard grabbar is installed on the wall and gives me a nice place to push myself off the toilet seat. However on the other side of the toilet is the door to enter the water closet, and using a standard grabbar would extend the bar and block the door. This fold-up mechanism works wonderfully. When I need to use it, I just flip it down to use it. When I’m done with it, I just fold it up against the wall, and it no longer blocks the door. Nice design!

Very sturdy and strong. I like the way you can move it out of the way if not needed. Installation is very simple. There no sharp edges and it can be mounted anywhere

USED ON BOAT LIFT PILINGS
WELL BUILT. I USED TWO ON OUR BOAT LIFT PILING TO ASSIST GETTING IN AND OUT OF BOAT. THE SUPPORT FOLDS UP AND OUT OF THE WAY FOR RAISING AND LOWERING THE BOAT. FINISH SEEMS GOOD, BUT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE HOW IT HOLDS UP TO THE FLORIDA KEYS SUN AND SALT AIR.

Poor quality, failed in use!
The bar is attached to the hinge assembly by only two small spot welds and broke off while being used. This is something that should NEVER happen with such an important safety device, the potential for a major injury is huge.

Safe and Sturdy Peace of Mind
This assistive device is very sturdy (when mounted into wall STUD, as is ours). It is versatile and space-saving. It stays up when in the ‘up’ position and remains safely secure when placed in the ‘down’ position. It is not very heavy at all to maneuver. We are purchasing two more to use in restroom area (which is how the device is marketed).

Perfect for 1 or 2 steps.
Would probably work fine for toilet, but works great in those areas where you have 1 or 2 steps going between rooms. It folds down for use, then folds up and out of the way when not in use. Use a pair of these if you have room, one on the upside and the other on the down side. And if you have someone with balance problems, or trouble handling stairs, get 4. Install them up and down, left and right side. Be advised. Kids like to use them to swing on.
