Gel cushion for the win! This puts memory foam to shame! Try it — you’ll love it!
This is an incredible seat cushion! I’ve been dealing with chronic pain from an IT band issue, and the memory foam cushion I had previously bought was not helping at all. This gel cushion lets me “float” in my seat (the gel does not fully compress, like I was experiencing with memory foam), which significantly takes the pressure off that irritated nerve and gives me some much welcome relief! I highly recommend this seat cushion!

I bought the Airllantry Thicken 19.7in Gel Seat Cushion and have been using it constantly for a month.I also bought four other various seat cushions. One for the couch and 3 others for my office chair. The thick square couch one is great (I’ll review it later) and THIS one for the office chair is great. The other 3 are not. They may be wonderful; but for my chair and my behind – they just don’t make it. Neither did the various pillows and cushions I’ve been using for a few years.Each of the others are up to 4 inches too shallow and at least an inch too short side to side.Another thing I believe really matters is that the Airllantry is more flat out like a rectangle than a full on attempt to shape fit a butt. The larger shape in my opinion really helps hold it in place. That rectangle shape even though it has some seat contouring, doesn’t try to force fit my behind into a center mold. If you’ve been looking, I’m sure you will have seen that is what so many of the offerings look like they do.The Airllantry is big enough to fit both side to side and back to front for my and any standard office chair pretty darn well. If I had built it, I would still have added an inch to the front and an inch to the back. To be fair I have not seen any other gel or memory foam cushion that is bigger than this.I also have to come down on the side of ‘gel’ being better than memory foam for me because others have been the ‘foam’.The description, “2024 Seat cushion features an upgraded size of 19.7 x 17 inches and 3.5 inches thick, also suitable for heavier users” works for me. I am one of those heavier users. I weigh 242 having come up from 220 as of Oct 2024.Seriously, my rear-end is more comfortable on this cushion for longer than anything else I’ve tried.

If you are sitting long term for many hours at a time this is ideal. Very comfortable, ventilation is great helps keep you cool and less sweating. Very supportive, functional helps keep pain at a minimum.

Sitting with a Gel Seat Cushion
I spend most of my day sitting at my desk, so I started looking for something to help my back and hips. I got this gel seat cushion and put it on my office chair. The first thing I noticed was how soft it felt. It doesn’t feel like sitting on a hard chair anymore. After a while, my lower back and tailbone don’t hurt so much. The cushion is pretty big and covers the whole seat. I like that it doesn’t get hot, even after sitting for hours, which helps during the summer. Sometimes I bring it out to the car when we take long trips to visit family. It fits good on the car seat too, and I just pick it up and move it when I need to. If I spill coffee, I just take off the cover and wash it. The cushion always goes back to the same shape, it doesn’t get flat. I can sit much longer now before I need a break.

Best one I’ve tried.
I’ve never used the so called ‘purple pillow’ that’s so expensive and raved about, but I can say, of all the seat cushions I’ve tried, this is the best. Instantly and noticeably different, softer and easier, even after a week of use, which is usually about when I notice whether one will work for me. Highly recommended.

NOT a Purple dupe
If you’re looking for a cheap Purple dupe, this ain’t it. This is a decent cushion, but nowhere near as good as the name brand one. Granted, this is 1/5th the price, so keep your expectations in line. The anti slip grip also isn’t great. I drove across country with this, and every time I got out of the car this fell out. Overall, it’s worth what it’s charging, but not a good dupe.
