Useful but a little hard to move
So it does work but it just as a problem or two of working “well enough”. What do I mean? Well I’m 5’11” and weigh 155lbs I was testing this out for the review before letting my aunt who is a bit shorter but let’s be honest heavier than I. It is difficult to move the plate a bit under load. I remediate this I put a little lubricant(silicone spray) which made it slide easier but I feel like you’d definitely need someone assisting. I’ll say that I assume that if you are in a state of needing one of these then someone is probably there to assist so probably not a problem. It is durable and held my weight well. My aunt’s weight as well which she won’t admit to but I’d say she is about 170lbs. It does prove useful for someone whose legs have issues(knee surgery) and she still has problems getting up so I definitely can see the use for it. I could also see the use for more elderly people who require assistance transferring from say the bed to a wheel chair and back. Especially if they have trouble standing and the person assisting cannot physically lift this much weight. It is a little expensive but you are paying for durability and probably a bit on the design. I assume with enough use it will move more cleanly and it’s just built a little tightly at first.

Rotation is fine, but it does not slide easily for patient transfers
This is a nicely sizable transfer board at about 40” L x 12” W. The bottom is anti-slip and worked well when I was trying it out with an assistant as a patient. Without anyone sitting on it, the round disk that rotates 360 degrees and also slides end to end along the width of the board works easily.HOWEVER, with the weight of a patient (in my case my assistant), the rotation feature works but NOT sliding. I could not slide my assistant; they had to use their legs pressing on the floor to lighten the weight on the board’s disk, and then they could slide. The Amazon listing states sliding patients can be done without lifting, and the instructions state without using their legs.It feels very sturdy and comes with a nice zippered carrying / storage bag, a green cloth, and a tube of unidentified material (possibly lithium grease for lubricating moving parts of the board). If the patient can alleviate their weight on the board with their arms or legs they can then slide. Perhaps this board will work better for lighter weight patients but it did not and is not an option for me or my assistant.

The disc does not slide easily under weight
I do not need this yet, but I have a friend whose husband is having knee surgery and will be in wheel chair for several weeks. My friend will test it out for me when he gets home and she has been trained to assist him. I did try it using it by myself to get from the sofa to the coffee table which is the same height. Not sure I did it correctly but I am not a heavy person and only 5′ tall but I could not get the disc to slide easily across the board. It works fine when no one is sitting on the disc but it seems to hang up and not slide easily under my weight on the disc. I am sure it would help if someone was assisting me but I don’t think it would work for me to use on my own if I need it. It is rather heavy on its own. It comes with a carry case with handles to move from room to room or from car to house. At some point everyone will need one of these so I am just being prepared for when I do need it.

Reliable and Easy to Use
Makes daily transfers much safer and smoother. The sliding disk allows for controlled movement without needing to lift, which helps reduce strain. Works well between a wheelchair and bed or car seat. It feels sturdy but is light enough to carry or store easily.

Transfer help
First of all , I wish product like this should come with a video tutorial to make things easier for users. Secondly, although the transfer board works, I feel that it is too long and heavy, especially for elderly without any help from other people. I tried the board by moving myself from one chair to another chair, and it definitely had a learning curve. A person has to have some strength in their arms to use this device. Again, it works but it’s not perfect.

Sturdy with movable disc
This transfer board is sturdy and long with movable disc that can be used to pivot. I used it to assist a visiting older adult to transfer from toilet bowl to wheelchair. The disc was useful for pivoting a seated person on the edge of the transfer board. Other that, it is not entirely different from other transfer boards.
