Some of the reviews indicate they come stuck together. Mine came on a board separating them. See photo. I would suggest never putting them together without something in between the positive and negative sides, they are powerful. I’ve used them on several bags, and I like them. They are easy to sew on. I have purchased multiple times.

Amazingly strong and perfect for thick projects
Packaging and product construction makes breaking these next to impossible. Perfect to make the YouTube channel SewVeryEasy ‘how to make a simple clutch look designer’. All the clutches matched each gown using fabric from hem alteration. This was my very first purse and the strength of these magnets through several layers fabric and basal foam was amazing. Magnets are good, but packed with nothing separating them.
I was a bit disappointed when I got these, nothing was between them so very hard to separate. Other magnets I have bought before came with a piece of cardboard between them so they were easily separated. I separated them and store them with a thick piece of cardboard between them.

Strong magnet but easy to work once you get the fabric cover on.
Very strong magnet. I mistakenly put two of the together before I had covered them with fabric for a tote bag. Had to get my husband to pull apart. Once i got the fabric on, no problems.
