A life saver for us
I bought this for my mother in law who has slight dementia and i’m so glad we did. it’s a life saver for us. We no longer have to worry about her missing her meds or having to leave work to take her meds to her. It’s easy to use and well worth the money

Love the app, but beware for users with Dementia
I needed help monitoring my mother’s medication schedule, because as she’s getting older, she is making mistakes with either taking too much, not enough, or at the wrong time. I loved this dispenser, and the fact that it had an app that I could see from home that she had, in fact, taken her meds when the machine told her to.You’ll note that I said “loved” in the past tense, because unfortunately, it did not work for us. My mother has dementia, and wasn’t able to understand that the alarm would tell her when it was time to take her meds and she didn’t have to worry about it. She got increasingly frustrated that she couldn’t get it open and was convinced that it was broken, so she took a ballpoint pen to it and was able to move the carousel just enough to access another slot of meds, and she took them, thinking she hadn’t taken her meds in days.I still give it five stars, because it’s a fantastic device, as long as the person using it has the mental capacity to understand how it works.

Wife can argue with me, but not with this device!
I ordered the “Robo-nurse” because, due to progressive dementia, my wife was not keeping on schedule with her meds. She would frequently argue with me that she had already taken them when I knew otherwise. The LiveFine Wi-Fi Pill Dispenser has resolved those issues. She can still argue about the Robo-nurse, but she can’t argue with the Robo-nurse! The app works pretty well at updating status and schedule, but setup is a little tricky. I gave it four stars for that and because it still doesn’t recognize that I’ve replaced the backup batteries. Wi-Fi functions pretty well, but be sure to place it where the Wi-Fi signal is strong. Otherwise you’ll get a voice announcement that Wi-Fi has reconnected – a little disconcerting in the middle of the night! All things considered, it’s a worthwhile investment.

Too many cons
After my standard LiveFine 28 automatic pill dispenser finally died, I decided to give this more expensive one a try. That was a mistake. Here are the reasons why I wouldn’t buy this unit:1) REQUIRES USB power cable at all times. Other reviews that talk about a constant low battery are probably due to the fact that this unit only uses batteries as a backup, and they only work for a few days. The old unit worked for months on one set of batteries.2) It didn’t mention voice anywhere, and the first time it talked I nearly jumped off the couch. It is annoying and no way to disable it.3) App has some nice features (like take dose early) but makes filling difficult.4) NO APP NOTIFiICATIONS. The app *says* it has notifications, but none ever pop up, making the app more of a detriment than a feature.5) Supports 2.4GHz wifi only!Again, the biggest reason I got this “smart” unit was that I thought I’d get notifications pushed to my phone when it was time for medication. However, there are NO notifications! Combining this with the annoyance of having to keep it plugged in all the time (making it largely immobile) and this is mostly useless compared to the old unit.I’ll be returning this for a “dumb” unit.

Would be great if it worked properly
After a little less than two years use my pill dispenser has finally and completely stoped working. The pros – the alarm is loud and will sound for a full 30 minutes if you don’t take the medicine. The tip over dispensing design meant that I would take my meds rather than silencing the alarm and then forgetting the pills while I made coffee. The Bad — It will NOT WORK if it’s not connected to Wi-Fi. Not only will it not work, if it has power, but is disconnected from the internet, it will yell “phone is disconnected, phone is connected successfully” over and over. You have to unplug it and take the batteries out if your internet is down.- It will occasionally get messed up and require you to reset the device. This is irritatingly over complicated.- Getting the Wi-Fi features (missed dosage alerts etc) to work reliably is far more effort than they are worth.- Based on other reviews 2 years is probably on the longer end of how long one of these can lastThe core features of this pill dispenser are great (the alarm, the pill dispenser mechanism) but the Wi-Fi features not only don’t work well but stop the device from working at all when they break down. Unfortunately the non Wi-Fi dispenser this company makes is battery power onl (no AC plug) and has issues with its motor.

Great device – Love it
We absoulutely love this machine so far. It’s been about a week. Very well thought out and so simple for my elderly step-father. My brother and I both have the app and know when our step-father has taken his meds. The only thing I’m worried about is when he loses power it says it only has a 4 hr battery back up. That’s fine if he doesn’t lose power for more than 4 hrs. We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. I felt it was a bit pricey but well worth the money to us knowing he’s taking his meds.

Superior product
Been using almost 3 years. Perfect product for secure, dependable dispensing. Recommend buying extra compartment ring and at least one extra key. A real blessing in guaranteeing regular schedule for meds. Comforting for patient. Highest recommendation. Read the description to understand properly.

Few things to note hereIt is possible to pry the lid open enough to tip medication out.. this could be a problem for some and could potentially be dangerous if little kids get curiousThe device does not work if its not connected to the wifi network you set it up on, it snot possible to setup on mulitple wifi networks eitherOverall the device is useful, for someone that is primarily at their place of residence and does not try and get to medication they are nto supposed to have it works well

My aging parent needed something to stop taking pills when they weren’t suppose to, or missing pills completely. Easy to set up, the app is amazing for me to see that they have taken their pills and it has given me peace of mind.Highly recommend.

Bought it for my Mom who has early stages of dementia. It is a saviour. she can no longer double up on meds. I can see in real time if she has taken her meds on time.Had to work out a couple of bugs but it is worth every penny.

Largely works as stated. Good quality materials. Fairly large, takes up a lot of a night stand, perhaps make a tower version? The older tech serving the connectivity can cause irritating warnings about “your phone ID disconnected”, then moments later “reconnected”, back and forth but turning off phones Bluetooth may help with this.Really works. The best way to allow others to track if someone has taken pills or not and know schedule. Final comment…PLEASE ADD DOWNLOAD/AUTOMATED DOWNLOAD CAPABILITY. Love the product overall but being able to show doctor what has been taken so we have better idea of blood levels and effect of medication amounts administered is important as everyone metabolizes differently. This would be great…and updating underlying tech for connectivity. My husband is technical so he got it working, someone not technical might need help.
