Customers find the motion detector alarm works well for monitoring elderly family members, providing great peace of mind and being easy to use and set up. The device receives positive feedback for its functionality and value for money. However, customers have mixed opinions about the alarm frequency, with some reporting it going off all the time, and the loudness, with one customer noting it can be muffled with a blanket or pillow. Peace of mind at last.
This inexpensive, little device solved my problem. The patient has a history of falling, even with a walker. I placed a bell next to her bed, and a horn on her walker, but although she promises to call for me at night, she either forgets or just doesn’t want to bother me.The volume level of the alarm is loud but that’s good. If you don’t want it quite so alarming, it’s easy enough to muffle it with a blanket or pillow, or just leave it in a different room than where you plan to be. It can be heard throughout my house. The alarm can also be worn on my belt and has coverage throughout the house and even when I’m in the yard or garage.Sensor placement: At first, I placed the sensor on the floor on the side of the bed where she normally rises, but one morning, she rose from the foot of the bed, and it failed to alert me.I now place the sensor on a table with coverage over the entire bed. I get a errant alarm from time to time as she tosses in bed, but I can fine tune the location to minimize false alerts. I’ll happily accept an occasional false alarm over the risk of a fall any day.Now here’s a tip: Have 2 sensors to cover movement in bed and a second one to alert you when the patient has her feet on the ground. You can distinguish which is which by assigning different alert sounds: I like the “Ding Dong! Ding Dong!” for bed movement and the “Lone Ranger theme when her feet reach the ground. Also if you’re thinking in terms of your loved one falling, this site has vendors who sell anti-fall inflatable vests specifically with the elderly in mind. They seem impressive to me.

Just what we needed!!
I just got this yesterday and used it last night and it worked great! I was able to situate the monitor so that it would set off the alarm on the pager as soon as my mom sat up in her bed. I was able to get up with her twice during the night and help her to the bathroom where she is a fall risk. The best part is that I was able to sleep the rest of the night because the alarm did not go off with every movement. Just when she sat up. For $25!! Perfect!

Good wandering alarm
Works well for what we needed it for.Cons: alarm is very loud. Wish there was a volume control on it.

Works well
I have an elderly parent with Alzheimer’s I care for. I am hard of hearing so I got this for nights when she gets up it will alert me. It is loud so it has to be on the low setting. The intercom feature will not work for her because of the fact she has Alzheimer’s and doesn’t understand how to use it.I am happy with this alarm.

Wonderful product for caregivers
I have my 95 yr old dad staying with me and his is on main while sleeping upstairs. He has memory loss and wakes up not understanding where he is. The second my receiver alerts me , I am on the way down. He doesn’t hear anything on his end. Has been a lifesaver. I know the moment he crosses the threshold into the living area. A must have

Bought this to get notified when my dad , who has Dementia, gets out of bed.No need for any kind of installation, just placed it near the bed.The patient can be safe in bed with the carer being free to be anywhere in the house, as it is portable .I wouldn’t mind an option of a softer notification BUT still- GREAT value for money
