We will be using these to help negotiate a step in and out of a room
The grab bars seem well made. We will be using the angle to provide a bit of support and balance when stepping down a step or a little assistance pulling up to it. I like that it is 16 inches–long enough to give support and balance and fit so the screws will be going into the studs for maximum fastening support. The other straight bar will go on the other side of the doorway, vertically where it can be grabbed going in or out- there is no place on that side for a horizontal bar.

good diameter, solid build, make sure your anchors are sturdy
I love the finish which is a dark matte and goes well with the dark tile in our bathroom. The product is good quality, the textured hand area provides a good trip, and the diameter is perfect. Not too thin and not too large. If you need some assistance getting in and out of the tub or shower area, or something to hold on to inside the tub or shower, then these are perfect for you.I took off one star for two reasons.a) There is a blemish on one of the wall caps. It can be rotated to hide behind the bar, so not enough to return or ask for a replacement, but be aware it can happen. I’m sure if I needed to I could get a replacement from customer service, but I didn’t try. It’s too small of an issue.b) The product info has a place where it says it can handle 500 lbs. Be careful. The handle bars are sturdy and will handle 500 lbs. But it is only as sturdy as your anchor on the wall. If you are a large individual with weight over 250 lbs, you should make sure at least some of the screws are set into the STUDS behind the tile, and not just use the plastic anchors. This is not mentioned in the installation instructions. If a sudden heavy pull will rip these out of the wall, it doesn’t matter that they can hold 500 lbs.So. If you are very large, please consult a professional before installing.

Need Some Additional Work and Quality Control In My Opinion
Grab bars do not need to be costly. The grab bars here are relatively nice grab bars. I am not able to find the stainless steel used or whether these are powder coated but the flanges have only 3 holes and that does limit how they are installed and their strength. I would like to see a stronger flange since it is ultimately what will secure the bar to the blocking or more than likely wood beam it is being connected to and if that isn’t strong enough it won’t hold 250 pounds much less 500.Additionally, the bars I received were rife nicks and scratches. In fact in a couple of places it looked as though the manufacturer attempted to cover them with polish and it did not work well. If these bars scratch and nick that easily then these will not look good after a few months in the shower where they will be knocked around, have items dropped on them, hands wearing rings grabbing them, etc. I’ve had grab bars that are in homes for several years that look as new and beautiful as the day they were installed. These got through quality control with all of these marks and all that was done was a black marker put on a few of the marks in a haphazard way. I hope this is not the norm. Additionally, the covers for the flange also had bubbles in the fabrication. Are they likely going to be noticed as people shower? Probably not. But should I use these next to the toilet or next to the sink or outside the door, sliding patio egress, stairways, etc., I believe they will be noticed. Grab bars are accessories to be admired like a beautiful lamp or urn or vase. Accessibility does not mean utilitarian, thus ugly. They should integrate with the home and the residents. Thus, I expect these grab bars to be better vetted by the quality control department before leaving the facility. Also, the ends of these grab bars are not symmetrical. In the photos you will see they even have chips in them. That gives me concern on how these will sit in the flange. Lastly, there is no die cut silicone seal to resist moisture from getting behind the flange with these grab bars. With regard to preference in grab bar size and style. Individuals with small hands prefer smaller circumference bars. Individuals with arthritis or gout will not like knurling because even the slightest rough surface can feel like walking on fire. It is important to allow the person who will use these bars to go to a brick and mortar store that carries bars to try different types to see what feels best for them. I did this with each of my parents and in-laws and one didn’t care (diabetic and doesn’t feel anything enough to have it matter) and the rest each had different preferences (two had to compromise). Then with the information you learn, do your research and find the best made in your price range with as many of the features desired as possible.I would put these grab bars in your list. But only if they work out some of the above issues in my opinion. They are very close to having a nice grab bar at a very, very reasonable price.

Excellent quality and I feel safe using them.
I received the chrome grab bars, and I am very impressed at the quality of the product. The L shaped grab I use it as a towel holder and a grab bar, which works very nicely. The straight grab bar works nicely in the shower or tub and both of the grab bars. Have a textured area to prevent slipping. Overall, I am very pleased with the two grab bars and would recommend them to anyone injured or elderly.

Attractive safety measure no one should overlook!
These grab bars are quite nice — polished chrome, with knurling where you grab them so your hands don’t slip. One thing they aren’t is as heavy as the ones I’ve seen in the big box stores. I tried bending them by hand, and they were plenty solid. A bolt attaches them to a plate and the plate has three screw holes that attach to the wall via three screws. A lot depends on the bolt, thread, and screws, and I would have been more comfortable with some overkill there, which is why I haven’t given them a five. One big no-no — they come with plastic anchors. My stepmother injured herself when she grasped a grab bar in her bathroom and it pulled right out of the wall. *Plastic anchors in drywall are not adequate for this purpose.* To install these properly, you need to put screws deep into a stud or wood block, and that means the latter, since the assembly will line up with only one stud. That may mean ripping open your wall, but it’s worth the expensve or trouble if you value your safety — and remember that young people can slip in the shower just as old people can!In any case, I’m glad I got these — it’s something I’ve put off for too long.

Great Set of Grab Bars!
I love these bars, they are sturdy and they look like high quality. We are going to put the shower grab bar in my mom’s bathroom to keep her stable getting in and out of the shower. We’re going to put the toilet handicap rail in our own bathroom because I have a chronic illness that sometimes makes it difficult to get seated. So this set of bars is a win/win for our home.
