Tight fit
the Lora antenna adapter thread is too short for the case if the nut is attached. Screwing the antenna in without the nut will assure solid connection. The housing holding the adapter is too thick. The battery connector is very tight to the edge. The v4 connectors for battery and solar are mounted so the cable exits to outside edge causing a short squeeze Against the case edge. Solved by routing one lead upwards and one downwards. This also requires the battery to be connected and activating the board so make sure the antenna is connected before or turn of transmit before any mechanical work. One also has to be careful one using the screws to not drop them on the boards while affixing it into the case. Looks like oversights by the board or case designer. But otherwise a nice case

Antenna fitment issues.
I like the form factor of this case. My only complaint is where the antenna connector fits into the case. It is a little too tall for the antenna to make a good/reliable connection. It is an easy fix to just sand it down a little. I have included a photos with one sanded down and one that isn’t.

High quality kit
Heltec v4: So far so good. Better screen and supposed to be better battery life. Seems more responsive too.The kit: Very good 3D printed case and well designed. I would like to see a carabiner hook point built into the top of the case but other than that great. Took only about 10 min to assemble and figure it out without looking at instructions.Battery is a good quality one. Overall worth the price and feels good in the hand.

Case is well designed, heltec v4 not supported yet
I liked the case, battery, antennas.Other reviews give good hints on assembly. My only concern is lack of programming support for the new v4 board. It is listed in the flasher meshtastic, but getting into DFU mode and lack of arduino ide board support (yet as of October 25,2025) means early adopters may encounter issues.

Wait to buy.
No functioning firmware available. Screen goes blank.

Good Quality Parts, GPS Module Not Included
Components and case are nice quality. No instructions are included, so you have to know to look up assembly instructions. My order did not come with GPS modules, which seems to be contrary to what the photos and descriptions show. I had hoped to use these immediately after receipt, but I now need to wait to see if the GPS modules were supposed to be included or not, and whether I need to return these units.

Heltec V4 unimpressive
The case was solid although a little tight near the battery connection. My issues are with the v4. Very mid. I had to back the unit down to 2.7.11 due to BLE disconnects and even then it is mid. When updating firmware the second time you need to jump through button sequences to get it into bootloader mode. Described nowhere except Google (type Heltec v4 programming mode method 2). So far very unimpressed with Heltecs and Meshtastic on a whole.

Works good
Got a friend to help configure it. Sends and received messages at almost 9 miles with no hops. Using the whip antenna. Will take it down to Tampa and should have no problem communicating back home over an hour away via mesh and mqtt. Using long range fast setting messages are quick.
