It does not require hand strength
I’m not old nor do I have arthritis. I got this for my son, girlfriend and mom to use (ok me too). It works on large and small jars and bottles. I intended to mount under my cabinet, however, if i did i could not use the bottle opener feature. This is because it is mounted on the side instead of being oriented like the jar opener part. I keep it in my kitchen drawer. it is easy to used and would have been easy to install. It grabs lids tightly. It does not require hand strength. It can be pushed accross to get jar open. But you still have to hold a jar. The advantage to be mounted is you only need to hold the jar. Instead of holding both as i do.

Very handy tool!
This is quite the handy tool to have around when you can’t open a jar and you’re the only one at home! I’m getting arthritis in my hands and some days I struggle opening tight lids, I can’t get a good grip on them, and this takes care of it for me! I’ve been using it as a handheld tool, but I think it probably would work even better if I mounted it under a cabinet!

Removes tight lids with ease
This jar opener is a must if you struggle removing various sized lids. There was a time the only solution I had was using the dull end of a knife and rapping the top until it loosened. Now, as indicated in the picture, you slip the opener over the top until a snug fit then twist. That simple. And with its ‘Y’ shape it can handle various sizes of lids. This also has a hook to tackle the pull rings of soda cans. While it can be mounted under a cabinet, I’d recommend not doing that. If it’s mounted then the force exerted is you trying to twist the jar. Unmounted you’re twisting the tool to remove the lid. Highly recommended for those who struggle with opening jars

Practical Jar Opener for Everyday Use & Perfect Stocking Stuffer!
This 2-in-1 opener works both under the cabinet and as a handheld tool, which makes it surprisingly versatile. The under-cabinet mount is great for big jars since it locks the lid in place so you only need to twist. The handheld option is convenient for smaller bottles or when you just want something quick. It grips securely across different lid sizes and feels sturdy enough for daily use. Definitely helpful for anyone with weak hands or arthritis who wants more independence in the kitchen.Pro tip: Mount it near the front edge of your cabinet for easy access—and it also makes the perfect stocking stuffer for your elderly friends!

A great little Jar-Wrench!
My wife has arthritis and struggles to open most jars, so she calls on me whenever she needs to open a jar. But sometimes I’m unavailable, so when I saw this “Handheld Jar Opener from Mnixy, I figured it was worth taking a chance. I’m glad I did! This simple device is brilliant, It’s a plastic wedge with an extended handle and metal teeth that literally cut into a lid as you use the handle to turn the lid. This wrench-like operation gives you the leverage advantage needed to open lids when your wrist/twisting strength is lacking. Think of this as a jar lid wrench because that’s exactly what it is!Now she can open pretty much anything, and I can write my reviews with fewer interruptions!

Handy jar opener
I picked this up for an elderly family member, who doesn’t have a lot of strength. This opener works pretty well, I feel like it might actually be better if mounted. However it does work! The metal teeth are only on one side. I thought it would be better to have on both, but maybe there’s a reason for it. It took a few times for me to get the proper grip to open, but it does work. Also has a bottle opener on the end which is helpful.

Opens everything
I ordered this because the jar opener I already had can’t open larger jars. I often need to open quart jars or pickles or sauerkraut and needed a bigger opener. I originally wanted to mount it under the cabinet to keep it away from the kids. I might still do that, but then I wouldn’t be able to use the others opening features, which are nice. This is a very useful tool and I’m glad I ordered it! I would recommend to anyone who needs to open a jar.

A Must Have If You Have Arthritis!
When those rubber circular jar openers just don’t cut it, this guy will! My arthritis has gotten considerably worse over the past few years. Sometimes I can open jars with ease, sometimes, not so much! This handy opener gives me the ability to not have to rely on my husband every time I need something opened. You can either mount it underneath a cabinte, or stick it in a drawer for when needed. It also has a convienent bottle opened on the end where you hold the opener. Extremely happy with it’s functionability as well as its affordable price.
