WOW. Just what I needed!!!!!
I have these type of bars in my bathroom. So I thought why not put them on my outside steps; and stop all the splinters from the wood! It was so very easy to do. Took all of 15 minutes to put the mounts on and screw them to the 4×4 posts. I did put some rubber silicone under the beauty caps to securely attach them as they were not tight. “No big deal for me”. This will be a huge help for me and anyone who visits coming in and out of my front door. I had no issues securing the bolts to the welded brackets and the bolts tightened up great. The bars feel strong when I pull on them and do not move. Because they are stainless steel they should not rust. They are terrific! 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My black grab bars were installed in early 2021. They are extremely sturdy (I can thank my handyman for the installation) and have never peeled or corroded, unlike my other black shower fixtures that have lost their luster, peeled, and need to either be replaced on refinished. I would highly recommend buying these. See photo taken 07.25.23.

These are perfect to use horizontally or vertically. Make sure they are installed properly and you will feel very safe. The neural handle makes gripping much easier and prevents any hand slipping.

Beautiful rod, but bad mounting bracket design
I have installed many dozens of these rods over the years from a variety of manufacturers, but the mounting design on this one is different than all the others, and not in a good way. First, the mounting bracket itself is maybe 60% the thickness (the gauge of the metal) of the others. I put 2×10” wooden reinforcements into to the wall so that you could literally hang many hundreds of pounds of weight off the bar. But I’d be afraid that this mounting bracket would bend or even tear if – God forbid – a very large person fell and really needed this bar to help get up.But the more important point is that all the mounting bracket contact against the wall rests on the thin outside edge of the bracket. Other designs have about 80% of their size resting against the wall, and they distribute the load more evenly. This one has what – 2%? So as you tighten the mounting screws, all the pressure is focused on this thin edge, and the bracket digs into the wall – unless you leave it barely tight. See third photo where I took it back off after tightening. Those are chips in the tile. And I always tighten these very carefully, so this is not the result of misused power tools – just a properly torqued mounting screw.On the plus side I will say that the grab bar itself has probably the most beautifully polished finished of any that I have ever put in. But I will go with another brand in the future, until the mounting bracket design on this one is changed.
