Simple and does the JOB!
I would call this a Retro style bottle / can opener. It has 2 functions and performs them very well. No bells or whistles. I do like the addition of the magnet so you can just slap it on your fridge and not have to go fumbling around in a kitchen drawer looking for it. Buy It!

doesn’t grip onto a canning lid
Disappointing, they will not grip onto my canning lids to open the lid. The gap is wide enough between the part that hooks onto to lid and the lid itself. This bottle opener just slides of the canning lid.
