My favorite knife sharpener for all situations
This sharpener works great! I have two of em (one in my camping gear, one in the kitchen). So easy to use and quick results. Just a few pulls and im slicing through vegetables and meats with none of the frustrating dull knife issues. Can’t recommend this sharpener enough. Also takes up little space in the kitchen drawer.

Effective and easy to use!
I saw this simple gadget on an episode of America’s Test Kitchen. It’s the raters’ budget buy at around $12. Don’t let that price tag discourage you from considering this handy little gadget as it is indeed a good buy! It did better than my three other knife sharpeners and it is a breeze to use. After a few passes, my chef’s knife is definitely much sharper. It’s so good I also bought the company’s garden tool sharpener.

Works great for most but not all knives
My old sharpener finally broke after many years. It was a similar design Smith’s. I saw all the positive reviews, affordable price and made in U.S.A. so I gave it a try despite the many negative reviews.I just needed it mainly for the kitchen knives, pocket knives and camping knives. Another reviewer said it worked on utility knife blades so I tried it. It works great and I don’t have to buy blades by the 100 as often for sure.One reviewer suggested using it placed on flat surface instead of hand holding it and that works better for me as well. More control and less likely to slip and end up cut.I would not use this on any high quality knives. Many negative reviews on how this can damage an edge and I can see how this tool could indeed do that. It’s a quick fix and not a precision sharpener so something to consider before using this on your knives. For me it’s exactly what I need for everyday use. Practice on a knife you aren’t worried about damaging. I found I barely have to put any pressure at all on the edge. Just smooth easy strokes. You can feel when it goes from rough to smooth and you’re most likely done. I use it for a quick tune up on my edges as my knives aren’t that great. Perfect for my everyday use. I hope this helps.

Easy to use great knife sharpener
The accu-sharp knife sharpener does a great gob in putting a razor sharp edge on a knife. Just a few strokes and you are done unless the knife is very dull. However any nicks in the edge won’t get taken out, so every so often you need to use a whetstone to even out the edge. This is true of all sharpeners which don’t contact more than one point on the edge at a time. On this sharpener when the Tungsten Carbide cutter gets dull which usually takes quite a while, depending on how hard the knife steel is, it can be turned over and then the sharpener operates just like new.

I will not buy another brand or type of knife sharpener again, and I have been buying them for family members. an easy to use product that delivers a super sharp edge to my home kitchen knives. I even take it with me when travelling, I am leaving Airbnb places with sharper knives than when I arrived…. 🙂
