The device has a locked unit and proper dispensing capability, though some report durability issues with it breaking within days. The pill size is problematic, with customers reporting issues with the slots being too narrow for larger pills, and they consider the product not worth the money.

It’s been amazingly helpful to us caregivers!
More people need to know about this pill dispenser!! My mother-in-law lives alone and has some dementia. She takes pills twice a day. We had one of those plastic pill cases, but she would mess with the pills and move them around to the wrong slots. And she would forget to take them. Even with us kids calling her at pill time to remind her to take her pills, she would sometimes tell us she had taken them when she had actually forgotten to. And she was getting irritated with our many phone calls. This automatic dispenser has solved all our problems. Since she takes pills twice a day, the dispenser can hold two weeks’ worth of her pills. (The dispenser can accommodate pill schedules from 1 to 8 times per day.) The case is locked and she only has access to one open slot. I fill all the slots, lock it up, set up the alarms, and the dispenser does the rest. It works like a carousel, rotating at alarm times to move pills to the little open door.Setup was easy with the app, and the app gives me remote access to the dispenser. I am notified when an alarm is going off, and I can watch the app to see when she removes the pills. I can change all settings remotely. And, if for some reason she needs to take pills earlier than scheduled, I can use the app to release them to her ahead of time. Also very helpful is the fact that the alarm will continue to sound for up to two hours, until she tips the pills out. So if she is sleeping late or is out of her apartment, she will hear the alarm as soon as she enters the room. The alarm consists of a flashing light, a loud beeping, and a voice saying it’s time to take your pills. When she tips out the pills, the dispenser says thank you.😊Mom is 93, and she had a learning curve of about five days until she got used to the alarm and was confident working with the dispenser. It was a little awkward for her at first—you have to tip the whole carousel upside-down to dump out the pills. I know that sounds weird, but it makes sense because that tipping movement triggers the alarm to cease. The hospice nurses who come in a couple times a week have all commented about sharing this product with their other clients. I highly recommend it to all caregivers!

Great physical device, dispenses pills fine, but the notification part leaves a lot to be desired.
The unit was easy to set up. There is no APP per se. It is a device in the Smart Home control App and such, there is no way to change notifications for the unit over other devices. It has notifications for medication times and missed doses. The first are great for my mom who takes the medications but I only want to be notified when she misses a dose. The notifications are set for the app on my phone, which sound like all the other notifications I get throughout the day – no way to make them stand out with a different sound or volume, etc.Extra pill cases are available, but none come with the unit. This seems like a major mistake as when the case empties, you have to stop what you are doing and refill 28 slots with the next round of pills. When you are managing this for someone else, say an assisted living facility, that means you have to bring all the pill bottles, 28 in my case, and then refill the case in your mom’s room. When we bought it several months ago, extra’s were not available though Amazon nor anywhere else. BUT… when I asked the seller through Amazon, she gave me a link to order extra cases. The seemed to match the original and worked perfectly. The unit’s notifications, sound and flashing light, can be set for how long to last, up to 2 hours. They do the job for my 94yo mom.Only other thing that I wish was better, is that Mom has to pick the unit up and dump the pills out. This getting more awkward for her as time goes on. She now has to use two hands to empty the pills into some container.

a few issues with pill size and alarm sound
Update with new machine (4 week update)- The new machine is working correctly with all 28 compartments – so it was some kind of error with the first machine. Customer service was very helpful in helping us get this fix over the last few weeks – so we are change review from 3 to 4 stars. for the pill size issue, we had to move around when she takes different supplements to get them to all fit well in the slots. We still have issues on how it releases the last slot, it moves too quickly as you try to dump them out and the pills get jammed. Also make sure you lock the container after it is filled, it helps the issue about pills sliding into the wrong slots. However if it is shaken too much to get pills out, smaller pills still sometimes move from the correct slot to another one.Update 3 weeks later- The company has reached out to me to help us try to get the device to work better for us – so I appreciate their help. The told us to adjust the ring number for different sound on alarms. The pill size is still an issue for us. She has some times that she has 7 pills – rx and supplement. the supplement sizes are just too big for that many and sometimes jam when she tries to shake them out. We still have not gotten the last day to dispense correctly – she is 4 times a day – so it should be 4 dispenses on that 7th day, but after 3 it says device is empty and goes back to the start. It also releases the last (4th med slot to her vs the 3rd) so she is getting her bedtime meds verses evening ones). This would work if she didn’t have memory issues as she would realize it is the wrong dose. We now have to be physically present on the last day when her dinner meds go off. I have written the company to see if they have a way to fix this. Another issue we had this last week were several small pills going into the wrong days when she is shaking it to get the pills out – she has to shake it several times due to the supplements getting stuck. and she some how got it unlock this week while shaking. So we are considering returning it – but we arent sure what to do next as having access to all pills isn’t an option anymore and being there physically 4 times a day to hand them out will be hard to accomplish. (The company is send us a new machine as it sounds like there is something faulty in the one we have).Original post -We are new to using this device – so this is to note a few issues we have noticed with initial set up and use. Our LO takes meds 4 times a day and with supplements up to 7 pills each time. The fish oil and larger supplements do not fit will in the smaller slots with that many pills. When we get them in the slots – they are hard to dump out – you have to shake it several times to get them out – which will be hard for our lO with dementia. One of the reasons we got the unit is she was leaving pills in her pill organizer and not taking them. So I am not sure this will solve that. The other thing that took me by surprise is it does not beep when it alarms for meds. It flashes and then says it is time to take you medicine. That voice repeats every minute or so – but if she isnt near the kitchen she is not going to hear it. So we are going to have to set alarms elsewhere that are at the time of the meds. So that is why I have given it 3 stars to start with. We did not have any issue connecting it to wifi or the app. App does not have a lot of instructions on using it and googling issues and questions doesnt seem to show much help so far. so we will have to play around with it. I do like that we can lock the device as another issue we have had is LO taking meds she had forgotten earlier in the day at the same time as later doses. so Hopefully this helps us with missed medicine times – if she can hear the voice telling her it is time to take her meds. And I wanted to share the review for others who may run into the same issues we have.

Although it took a while to work it all out, the instructions were clear. The only issue was that my mum had dementia and didn’t have much dexterity in her hands, she felt unable to tip the device upside down to get all the tablets out.

Usually I’m a bit sceptic about new technology which supposedly make life easier. For taking medication we simply set the timer on phone calendar and that’s it. With this new message dispensing tool, it can be blessing or struggle depends how good you or the carer is with technology.Things gets easier these days when an app does half of the job. We just need to download the Smart Life app and carefully fill up the information needed to use this pill dispenser. WiFi will be needed to connect with the dispenser via the app. There is an option to use this product without an app but the manual settings can be a bit tricky to follow, unless doing it very carefully, step by step with the manual instruction. This device needs to be connected to the cable all the time when in use so I don’t know why this needs rechargeable battery? I guess, only when is power cut or when transporting it.This dispenser is a bit big but considering amount of pills it can hold, it’s decent in size after all. It’s made of hard plastic so it shpuld last unless dropped on the floor and is being damaged. The dispenser is secured by special key so we can open the lid only when placing the set of pills in. If we take care of someone who takes pills, then that person can’t open the whole box. Only set of pills will be dispensed when it’s medication time set on the app or manually on the pill dispenser. Also the buttons are protected from any mischievous behaviours. Alarm will sound when it’s time for beds and if not taken the meds from the special window on the dispenser, it will notify us via app that the meds hasn’t been taken and alarm will continue to sound on the dispenser.I could write and write about this product but noone would want to read that much so I just focus on the essential things. The dispenser has pill boxes and we can put few pills in one box. If taken set of pills 3 times a day, then we will need to refill the dispenser every 9 days, as it has 28 boxes only. Some people need to take beds more often, even 9 times so we need to refill the dispenser every 3 days. Not everyone will work this out how to use this device, but those who do, they will find it useful.Looking at the price tag, I wouldn’t buy it myself as its expensive. But if someone takes lots of pills and needs to keep careful track on the timing, this dispenser would be really helpful. It’s good quality product.

This pill dispenser is a smart bit of kit! It won’t be suitable for everyone’s needs, but in specific situations this pill dispenser could be the answer for medication management. To use this pill dispenser, you’re required to download an app. I found set up to be quite simple through the app, and pairing the dispenser to the app was relatively easy. This dispenser requires a Wi-Fi connection to correctly function, so this dispenser is not suitable for those not connected to the internet. For a caregiver, this pill dispenser can be a very useful tool. Once set up, a caregiver can remotely monitor when it’s time for the meds to be taken, and check if the dispenser’s lid has been opened. As with any pill dispenser, filling each compartment is a bit tedious when you have multiple medications, but it’s worth it in the end. This pill dispenser has the capacity to hold anywhere between 3–28 days worth of medication, dependent on how many times a day the meds are required. In terms of quality, this dispenser is okay. It’s made out of a plastic that feels to be fine quality, but not the best. I wouldn’t have much hope for it surviving any bumps or drops on the floor. The screen is good quality, and is easy to read. I like that the pill dispenser is rechargeable, and is charged via a USB cable, rather than it using standard batteries. Also, another thing to note is that this pill dispenser is quite large. However, when considering it has a capacity to store multiple medications for up to 28 days, I have found it to be much more space efficient than having multiple boxes of different tablets in my bedside draw.Obviously, at just shy of £130, this pill dispenser is not cheap, and I do think it’s a little overpriced. It’s a nice bit of kit if you/you care for someone who is the kind to forget medication, but if you/the one you care for is always up-to-date with meds, then this dispenser is definitely not worth the price tag!

●never used such a device before and to be honest I’m quite impressed about how intelligent and complex is. Seeing the pictures I expected to be smaller but actually is quite large, which is good as it can cover more days with more dosages.●the pack contains everything needed for the machine to work, 9 dosage rings that can cover from 1 dose per day for 28 days to 9 doses for 3 days, cable, wall charger, 2 keys, a very useful user manual and even a 2200mAh rechargeable battery which can last for approx 4-5 days, this depends on how many alarms are set. My suggestion is to keep that manual safe for future references.●quite easy to use, understand and set up, the user manual is very helpful while doing the settings. The most important thing in my opinion is to understand how the rings work and once this is done just need to fill it up with pills and set the alarms on the app, works with smart life app which is free in appstore. The app is simple, only need to select the dose and set the alarms, up to 9 alarms per day.●the device seems to be designed for people with problems but anyone can benefit using it, helps to avoid unnecessary headaches and keep on track with the pills. Never forget to take a pill anymore as once the alarms are set, will goes off exactly plus notifications will be sent on the phone, even when the battery is low●this pill dispenser can be safely used even around kids as the pills are fully covered and it can be locked with key.Recommend.
