When you want Alexa’s help without having to talk
A Game Changer for Smart Home ControlI had been long-awaiting the release of this item, and now that it’s here, I can confidently say it’s a major game changer in my house. Sometimes you just don’t want to have to talk to Alexa—you just need a silent, instant way to trigger commands.Enter this switch, the perfect solution for seamless, quiet smart home automation.Intuitive Programming and Blazing Fast SetupThe core feature of this device is its incredible versatility. It boasts four physical buttons, and each can be programmed for two distinct actions: one for a short press and one for a long press. That gives you an impressive total of eight programmable routines at your fingertips. The best part? Setup was an absolute breeze. From cutting the seal on the box to running my first programmed routine, the whole process took maybe 15 minutes. It was truly a near-automatic setup experience. It works excellently and has no trouble keeping up with rapid button presses.Effortless Routine CustomizationIf you’re already familiar with setting up Alexa routines, this will feel immediately intuitive. And if you’re struggling to figure out how to program a complicated sequence, there’s an easy workaround: just program a routine that uses the “Say to Alexa” function and simply type in what you would say to Alexa to get her to do what you want. This feature makes it exceptionally user-friendly for complex commands.Flexible and Thoughtful MountingThe mounting options are well-designed for real-world use:The backing plate is smart—it appears to fit most US outlet box screw patterns for a truly secure mount, but also comes with an option for double-stick tape for a non-permanent solution. The remote itself is magnetized to the wall plate, creating a solid “docking” cradle. While secure, be aware that a strong, sideways brush might knock it off.The versatility means you can mount it on the wall, stick it to a metal surface, or just leave it out on a counter as a portable controller.Power Supply and ConnectivityThis is powered by a button cell style battery, and, with my experience with the tech used to send the signals, it should last for a long long time with no fuss. It also has a light to confirm that it sent the command. You need no Hub device for this switch, many of the Echo speakers in your home can already do it. The Amazon store is probably telling you on this very page, what devices you have that are compatible.I’m super excited to continue putting this thing to use. If you are looking to add reliable, silent, and instantaneous control to your smart home, this switch is a highly recommended must-have!

Effortless Smart Home Upgrade at a Great Price!
I couldn’t be happier with this smart switch. The setup was refreshingly simple and took just minutes…no dangerous or complicated electrical wiring required. It synced flawlessly with my Echo hub and the Alexa ecosystem, making it compatible with a wide variety of smart products right out of the box. I really appreciated that it included everything needed for wall mounting, but what truly stands out is the removable switch design…you can use it as a handheld remote and place it anywhere, or keep it on the wall where it magnetically snaps to the wall plate for convenience. For just $20, this switch delivers incredible functionality and flexibility. This level of quality and ease of use at such an affordable price makes it a perfect addition for any smart home. Highly recommended!

A cost effective, mostly easy way to add buttons to your Alexa setup.
So, you’ve got a few friends over for a movie night. Before you start the show everyone’s chatting and laughing. It’s a bit too noisy to get clear commands to your Alexa to initiate the routine you’ve set up that dims the lights and switches your TV/Receiver inputs. Well now you can press a button for that routine. No barking commands over other people, no digging through the needlessly convoluted Alexa App (ugh, the worst). Just press a button. It was easy to set up. I took the battery protector off a second later I got a notification from the Alexa App that my “First Remote” was ready to set up.I’m knocking off one star though. The reason is it’s advertised that it runs routines, and it does, but not your existing routines. No, that would be too straight forward. Instead, you have to add every action of a routine you’d like to run into each button slot. Basically, rebuilding the parts of your routine into the button. Not world ending, just extra steps.Overall, it’s a pretty good device to add to your Alexa ecosystem. For what it does and what it costs, it’s perfect.

Flexible, convenient, and fills a much needed role in most home control systems.
This is a much needed addition to any home control system. Really, a programmable remote that can be set up to do most anything in the home. 4 buttons with 2 functions per button: a short push or a long push. I immediately set this up to enable Movie mode, turn off all lights, adjust some spotlights for guests (on and off), and play the current outside temp. Pairs easily to Echo and can trigger any action. The remote attaches magnetically to a faceplate, which can be mounted anywhere convenient. My wife now uses it instead of the wall-mounted iPad or navigating to an app on the phone.Such devices have been hard to find but this one allows common functions and scenes to be triggered with a single button.

Works well although poorly designed.
Pain to use, if you want to change what the buttons do I had to delete them and start over leaving me with phantom.button clutter in the app. They are not rechargeable and the buttons are not back lit. A dull red so as not to ruin night vision would be great. They do trigger the routines much faster than asking Alexa to do so! Much much faster than alexa +
