Excellent lancing device for painless finger pricks
The lancing device that came with my glucose meter (OneTouch Verio IQ) was painful to use, and would occasionally fail to create a finger prick that produced enough blood for the test strip to work correctly. So occasionally I had to finger prick myself two times. You also had to pull out the lancet from the device using your fingers (risking yet another prick). After many years of use, it eventually broke and so I had to purchase a new one. After much research I decided to go with the Auvon lancing device. I have my Auvon lancing device set to 3 (it has ten possible positions), and it is much less painful than the OneTouch lancing device. The manufacturer claims that the lancing device results in less pain because it jabs your finger straight with less sideways vibrations. I also think that the 30 gauge lancets are better than the ones that the OneTouch meter used. The lancets themselves are ejected by sliding a lever forward, and not by pulling it by hand. The Auvon lancing device is also much more reliable, and every finger prick produces enough blood for the test strip to work correctly. So double finger pricks are a thing of the past for me. The lancing device is armed by pulling the rear knob back, this works quite smoothly every time. The trigger button is brilliantly designed. It is a clear plastic button that is blank when the lancing device is not armed, and then turns red when the lancing device is armed and ready to go.In total, this device is much more nicer to use than the OneTouch lancing device. I believe that it’s a worthy upgrade to the basic lancing device that comes with most glucose meters.

Literally Painless in most uses.
I just got this. I take my blood 5 times a day and had always used the included lancet with contour and similar devices but the yare all the same. The problem with other lances is two things.. the vibration can cause them to sometimes wiggle, and they are fast but still slow enough you can feel the prick. This makes all others inconsistent and variable pain. sometimes you would barely feel them, and other times they would feel like insect sting..The AUVON is different because it address the two things that normally cause pain.. Vibration, and Speed.. The Vuvon is guided and has little very vibration so no wiggle, an secondly it’s a MUCH faster prick that is so quick your brain doesn’t register the actual prick. (Very cool!). The result is you literaly don’t feel the prick. or even really pain. you might feel a little bit of the after effect but it’s MUCH less intense than that sharp stab you would normally feel..

Painless and easy to use
Really great lancing device!! I have a major fear of pricking my fingers and this was so steady, I didn’t even feel it. I set it on 2 and it was perfect. So grateful to have found this!

Doesn’t work as advertised
Used lancet remains lodged in device even when the ejector is fully extended out. This requires the user to pull out the lancet to remove and discard it. High likelihood of pricking fingers.
