Just what I needed for my aching back after surgery
I installed these rails on both sides of my king size mattress. After my lumbar spine surgery I needed a way to use my hands and arms to help me roll my body from side to side so I could sleep on either side or on my back. These rails gave me something solid to hold onto and thus helped me to manipulate my body during that rolling process. I am a bit overweight and rolling from side to side was not always an easy task even before my surgery. Since the size of my kingsize mattress only lets me reach one railings at at time, I fastened the supplied strap onto the upper bar with the rubber on it on one of the rails which allows me to grab the strap with my hand. By pulling on the strap I can roll my body onto the side.All this sounds a bit complicated, but it is not and works great. I did not have to strap the rails to the bed frame for stability. I slipped the lower part of the assembled rails between the box sping and the top mattress which holds the rails very solidly. These bed rails are also very useful for getting in and out of the bed. The rails are of good quality and are very easy to assemble. The part of the rails that slips between the mattress and the box spring is adjustable; I fully extended it for good stability when positioned between the mattresses. The vertical part of the rails is also adjustable to accommodate different thicknesses of mattresses. I am very happy to have found these rails at Amazon, they have made it much easier to move/roll my body from side to side and to get in and out of bed. Also, the rails are narrow enough and do not interfere with getting in and out of bed.I can highly recommend to install these rails, they have made my live so much easier. I think the price is a very fair price for these high quality bedrails. Amazon delivered the rails one day after placing the order. How much better can it get.

Easy assembly and slides right up under the mattress. Stays in place and very sturdy!!! I like the fact that there’s no legs to sit on the floor. Works well with my adjustable bed frame too! Highly recommend!!

Great helping hand
I bought this for my 84 year old father, who is still in great shape, but is a little unsteady when getting up out of bed in the morning (or at night to visit the restroom) and I was nervous he would fall. He’d been using a walker to grab onto, but there is nothing to stabilize it, and I wanted to something he could grab and hold onto if he lost his balance. Initially we mounted this near his head on the side of the bed, but he found it interfered with his CPAP and reaching his nightstand/alarm clock/light, so we moved down near the foot of the bed and he really likes being able to grab it as he stands. It’s bottom bars go under the mattress (between the boxspring and mattress) and it has a locking strap to ensure it will not shift or move. It’s very sturdy, adjustable and has a couple of small pockets for things, he’ll stash his glass in them when he goes to bed at night. This is a great little gadget for helping to stabilize, without the hassle of a full size rail.
