Works great for my cat
My cat has hypertension and takes a daily medication for it. I use this to take her bp two or three times a week and log it in a notebook. If she has any acute fluctuations, I can call the vet and give them an idea of what her bp has been so they can assess it. The device also logs the activity history, so I can catch up on entries if I forget to write it in her logbook (it’s easier to take a notebook to the vet with her info than the whole machine.) She uses the small cuff and tolerates it well now. I had to sedate her the first few times to get her used to it, but now it’s old hat and she gets her blood pressure taken without any problems. It sucks power out of batteries in a matter of a couple days, so I have to keep it plugged into a wall outlet to keep it on, but that’s not a problem. My mom uses it monthly to monitor the bp of her dogs, a doxie and a min-pin mix, so having the various cuff sizes is really nice. The large cuff can fit on people if you need to take your own bp, too.

Very inconsistent results
We did lots of research on how to take cats blood pressure, so we confident we’re doing it as good as we can. But this unit does not seem well calibrated to use the small cuff required for cats. It consistently inflates, deflates, re-inflates, deflates, re-inflates, and then fails the measurement. It takes many minutes, and frequently doesn’t give any results at all, just an error message. And when it does result in an actual reading, they seem quite erroneous. Multiple readings, one right after another, have wildly different results. Also, it kept saying our cat’s pulse was nearly 200 bpm, and we know this wasn’t true because we could feel her pulse and it was about half that reading. So, thanks to Amazon, we returned it.

Cuff quality is not ok
Overall – good device for using at home.Removing one star for poor quality of the cuff. I used device 2-3 times a day for my senior cat and cuff started ripping a few days ago.

Exactly What We Need
I was so fortunate to come across this devise! My little coton de tulear. Molly, has been diagnosed with Cushing’s Disease and shows some signs of hypertension. The vet had difficulty getting accurate blood pressure readings because Molly gets so anxious just walking into the office. This devise allows me to get recordings at home. with her calmly lying down, arm at the level of the heart. This equipment was so much less expensive than the others that I wondered how well it would work. The cuff inflates, deflates perfectly; if there is motion, an error message occurs; a list of the readings is available in the memory. I rarely write reviews but I think this may be helpful to others who are dealing with their pet’s illness.

Finally the Third One Purchased Works.
Using to monitor BP on my cat. Have had two delivered to me, and hoping third time is a charm. Seems this product is of poor quality. I did receive two new ones, unlike other reviewers I read. It is easy to use, setup and process exactly like BP cuffs for people, of which we have two of them in the house, so it is not because I do not understand how to set up and use. The first one gave erratic readings, some more or less around what would be expected, but erratic, and vet did not trust the multiple numbers I recorded over four days. Then the cuff quit working at all, and received “Air Leakage” message with no reading every time I tried using it. I packaged it back up and returned it. Bought a second one. Put it together, got three consistent readings the first day. Was hopeful. The second day, it would not work at all, kept getting “low power” message time after time, in spite of brand new batteries. Reinstalled batteries, changed USB port, just in case. Still “low power” message. Called Amazon customer support. She told me to take out and reinsert batteries, which a did for the third time, and still no reading. So now I’ve returned this second one to Amazon, and hoping the third one will work. Will update review once I receive the third sphygmomanometer.UPDATE: Received the third sphygmomanometer. It worked for several days of readings on brand new batteries. After a week, it also stopped working like the others, with a “low power” message, and would not function. After reading the product description, I could not find what kind of electrical adapter to buy to bypass the batteries. I fortunately found I had and electrical adapter that was of the right size for the pin on the appliance. After plugging it in, the product seems to work now pretty well. I would say still that the cuff is too bulky for most petite cats, but for my almost 15 pound kitty, it is okay. It should come with an electrical adapter or tell you what one to buy at the same time, because after three different machines eventually giving me a low power message and not working, it would not seem to be made well for battery use. I would give a one star for the first two machines, and am giving three stars for this final third one.

A+ Great little blood pressure device
First off: getting a reasonable blood pressure reading on a pet means getting the pet relaxed and calm, keeping it calm and motionless, and repeating the measurement a couple, e.g. three, times. If you can’t do that, don’t expect any sphygmomanometer to give you an accurate reading. The same is true in humans: motionless for five minutes sitting, feet flat on the floor, no talking, the cuff at the same level as the heart, and having the left arm supported.You need to match the cuff size to the left limb in question. (Yes, it needs to be the left fore limb, and yes, your pet should be lying down, as the goal is to get the cuff at the same height as the pet’s heart.) It helps to look up the anatomy of your pet, so you know where the main artery is.We did all that, and it has been very reproducible, and matches the values from our human medical grade cuff.We have found it great for tracking our pet’s blood pressure in response to drugs that can raise blood pressure.As far as I can tell, this appears to be well designed, and thought through, device. It is easy to change the cuff size on the device on the menu. The manual cautions not to have the wrong cuff size set.

Inicialmente el equipo no cuenta con protección en la pantalla, llegó rayada como si el equipo ya hubiera sido utilizado. No trae cable de corriente pero prende con pilas, sin embargo infla parcialmente el brazalete y nunca emite ningún parámetro de medición, en todo momento marca error, de igual manera el que se coloca en la oreja de las mascotas no funciona. No da ninguna medición. Además no permite devolución hasta dentro de un mes.Soy médico estoy familiarizada con éstos equipos así que no es falla humana o desconocimiento, el equipo no funciona.
