Works as expected
Okay, so if you’re using a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM), you know the constant little worry in the back of your mind: “Is this thing going to get ripped off?” “Am I going to snag it on something?” Enter CoverGuard CGM overpatches – and seriously, they’re a total lifesaver. I’ve been using them, and they’ve completely transformed my peace of mind.My biggest fear was always snagging my CGM, especially during workouts or just, you know, living life! These patches are designed to protect your device non-stop. I’m talking active days, nights, everything in between. It means I can actually live my life without constantly babying my arm or wherever my sensor is. Showers? No problem. Sweating buckets at the gym? Stays firmly put. It’s awesome to not have to worry about my CGM getting damaged or falling off before its time is up.What really impressed me is how well thought out these are. You can tell they got feedback from real CGM users. The ‘precision cut’ means it fits perfectly over the monitor – no weird edges or bulk. Plus, the tan, premium non-woven material looks really neat; it doesn’t fray or peel at the edges, which is a HUGE plus for aesthetics and durability. And the non-adhesive center? Genius! It protects the sensor area without sticking to it, so removal is easy without messing with the actual monitor itself. They even give you solid or center-cut options, which is cool for personal preference, and the multi-panel backing makes them super easy to apply yourself, even with one hand if needed.Let’s talk sensitive skin, because that’s a big one for many of us. These patches are made with breathable, flexible material and medical-grade adhesive. I have pretty sensitive skin, and I haven’t had any irritation whatsoever. They’re comfortable enough to forget you’re even wearing them. And they really do last – up to 15 days! That’s impressive staying power for something that’s also gentle on your skin. They truly are waterproof and sweatproof, holding up through everything without compromising your CGM’s performance.Honestly, the fact that they’re waterproof and sweatproof and still manage to be sensitive-skin friendly is a major win. And knowing they’re ‘Made in the USA’ just adds an extra layer of confidence in the quality. If you’re a CGM user looking for a reliable, comfortable, and discreet way to protect your device and stop the constant worrying, you seriously need to try CoverGuard. They’ve earned a permanent spot in my diabetes toolkit. Highly, highly recommend!

Aggressive adhesive. Will definitely stay on! But not the easiest to apply.
These patches are a pretty good solution if anyone has issues with the G7 overpatches coming off before your sensor expires. And they do cover the whole sensor, which I guess is nice aesthetically. However, the adhesive is aggressive and can be hard to apply. When it comes time to remove, they are still stuck on very well, and the skin will be a little irritated for a couple hours after removal from the peeling. However, these could be a great choice for someone who has trouble with lack of adhesion. I think more people have problems with the sensors sticking vs them sticking too well, so in that way, they work well for the purpose. Also, I would say that these are a good choice for someone who swims or goes in the water a lot, where the stock overpatches may suffer in reliability.I think I’ll just be sticking with the stock overpatches for now.

work great and easier than many to put on!
I have tried a LOT of these overpatch things for CGMs. they’re all pretty similar with some being thicker than others. I’ve found most to be sticky enough to make it to the end of the CGM cycle. The reason these stand out for me is the non sticky section in the middle of the patch. What a difference this makes when applying one of these! They’re also a bit smaller than some others which I also like. Do yourself a favor and give these a look if you’re a CGM wearer like me.

Sticks Well, not necessarily easy application or removal
I do like these patches in the fact they are not brightly colored so do not stand out so prolifically. And, their claim that they stick well was 100% accurate in my experience. The issues I ran into were more related to their advertising of other features:- Easy application: When putting this overpatch on your arm, that means you are applying it one-handed. They say to remove one section of the backer (1/4 of it), apply it to your skin, then remove the rest. The ones I tried out the backer did not want to come off easily while following these directions. And if you pull all the adhesive backer off, the patch wants to curl and stick to itself.- Easy removal: As can be seen in one of my photos, the adhesive stuck so well it left a raised red circle on my arm. The adhesive definitely held as advertised, for me. But it was painful to remove the overpatch. Since you do not want it falling off, this is good and bad, but was not pleasant.- Waterproof or water repellent: The website says they are waterproof. The back of the package you receive says water resistant (see photo). That is a huge difference if you are counting on the patch to protect what’s underneath it from any water. Since their own materials contradict each other, I would not trust the waterproof claim.I wore the patch during wet conditions, showers and while working out. It stayed in place the entire time, and as shown in the photo did not come off easily. But, following their directions it was difficult to apply and may or may not be truly waterproof.

A Good Patch for Peace of Mind, But Tricky to Apply
I’ve been using this CoverGuard CGM Overpatch for my Dexcom G7 sensor, and overall, I’m pretty happy with it. It definitely gives me some peace of mind knowing that my sensor is protected from accidental bumps and knocks. The full-coverage design feels secure, and the waterproof adhesive has held up well through my workouts and showers, which is a huge plus. I also really appreciate that the material is gentle on my sensitive skin and that it doesn’t leave any sticky residue when I remove it.My only real issue is with the application process. It can be a bit tricky to put on correctly without getting wrinkles or having the edges lift. The backing comes off in multiple pieces, and you have to be very careful to line it up perfectly. I’ve had one or two patches start to lift on the edges after a day of use, but I think that’s mostly due to me not applying it perfectly. With a little more practice, I think it will be a 5-star product. For now, it’s a very reliable and protective patch, but it requires a bit of patience during setup.
