Total let down.
Total let down!I had such high hopes for this thing. My son has autism and we love visual timers. He doesn’t have one like this so I thought I’d give it a try. It came with absolutely ZERO instructions. It seems pretty self explanatory but every time I try to set it, just just beeps and the numbers don’t do anything. I even went as far as googling or trying to find a YouTube tutorial to see how to work it but with no success. Just save your money and buy the Learning Resources one.

I know it’s meant to be a tool for helping kids manage homework and daily routines, but I use it as a visual reminder when I’m doing a timed activity of my own. I’m a life coach and I have a tendency to allow my sessions to overrun. So I set this device up to run for 1 hour on silent mode. When the yellow light comes on, I know I have 15 minutes left and it’s time to start wrapping up.I sometimes also present sessions at online conferences, where I’m given a limited time to speak. I can set this timer to the allocated time, say, 20 minutes, and the yellow light will come on at the 15 minute mark which gives me 5 minutes to wrap up.It’s very easy to set up, feels solidly built, and runs on batteries so it’s portable enough to use anywhere (though I do wish it had a USB charging option). The lights are bright and clear, and the ability to run it in silent mode is a big plus for me — I don’t want my clients to be distracted. The yellow light automatically comes on after 75% of the allocated time has elapsed, so there’s no need for me to calculate when I want it to show up.Overall, it’s a simple idea that works really well for my needs.

A simple thing with a big incentive for young children to finish what they’re doing whilst feeling an achievement. A bit like gold stars mentality.Easy to set and focuses them on competing to get things done. The item is solid and battery powered, so you should get some good use out of it.
