Customers say
Customers find the traction cleat easy to attach and use, taking only a few minutes to install with two screws. The product works well on various surfaces, particularly in snowy conditions, and provides excellent stability on slippery ground. Customers appreciate its safety features, making them feel secure, and find it particularly useful for crutches. While customers describe the cleat as sturdy, some report that it falls apart within a few weeks of use.

Highly recommend – SUPER sturdy
These were EXCELLENT on my crutches in Alaska. Traction on ice & snow kept them from slipping! The spikes are hard metal – super quality hardness. They withstood ice, concrete & asphalt no problem. Superb structural integrity. They are easy to install and are adjustable easily to cane or crutches in different widths/sizes. 100% recommend.

A must-have for crutches+ice
I broke my foot last winter and spent ages on crutches in the frozen tundra that is Boston. Since I’m a student, I kept going to class as much as possible, which includes a pretty major commute. One day, on the bus, an elderly gentleman held up his cane and said menacingly “you gotta get you some of *these!!*” After my initial shock, I realized that he had ice picks on his cane. Oh sweet joy of joys. I ordered them that day. Of course, the tundra started melting the next week, but those seven days were excellent, increasing my speed and decreasing my falls. Plus, I could use them to threaten friends and assailants alike. Seriously, before I had these, this girl pushed me into a snowbank to get past me. Had I already had these babies, her face would’ve been mincemeat, though I would’ve probably been arrested). The only reason they get 4 stars instead of 5 is durability. The frame bent fairly quickly, and the spikes started to bend quickly thereafter. I was able to bend the frame back into working order, but had I been purchasing these for a more permanent solution rather than an injury (cane vs crutches), I’d have been very upset. As it was, I got my $20 worth (each order is only one, so if you need a pair, order two).I did like that the frame folded up to a non-use position, prolonging the life, but it was during this that the frame caught on something and bent. One note of caution: be sure to keep the spikes on the outside of the crutches/cane for the non-use position. It’s slightly harder to engage, but less crappy than tearing your one good ankle up with spikes that you aren’t using.

Works GREAT and easy to use
I attached this retractable ice spike to a walking stick for use in snow and ice on a trip. It worked GREAT! It was easy to attach to the stick and stayed tight. Retracting the spike is very easy. Walking on a wet sidewalk, I retracted the spike up. When I got to a patch of ice, it was simple and quick to release the spike, flip it down and it locks into place easily. It really helped gain traction on icy streets and sidewalks.

Easy to use
I ordered this for my sister who uses a cane for mobility assistance. She is very independent! She loves that can use the spikes when it is snowy or a little icy outdoors and flip the spikes when indoors. She says it was very easy to put on her cane even with limited use of her one hand. This product gives me, the little sister, a peace of mind knowing she will be safe using the cane spikes along with the shoe spikes (also ordered on Amazon and sent to her home) when she walks to her place of work building. We live 1000 miles apart from one another so now you can understand why I’m at ease! I highly recommend!

Just what I needed.
Great for crutches in the snow. My therapist was impressed with them and had never seen them before. Easy to put on. Pretty easy to flip up and down when needed. The best option I had found, especially for the price. Don’t last long though. The plastic cap came off the side really fast, so you have to push on the sharp metal to operate. Eventually the metal brackets holding the spikes on come off one by one making the spikes flop around. If you are crafty, you can keep attaching the spikes to make it through if it’s a temporary need. I did not slip on the ice or snow though!

Bought a set to attach to my crutches with rubber toes for walking on icy surface. Used it several times with icy rain and my drive way was so slippery. Great grip on the ice and give me firm footing. Excellent product. Flip it up when not in use !
