Lifesaver – this product is the best
I am so thankful for this product. My wife has MS and lost mobility. It is very difficult to lift her up to move her from lift recliner to wheelchair, wheelchair to toilet, ect. This transfer disc saved the day (and my back). It easily goes underneath her feet. She wraps her arms around my shoulders (her arms are weak) and I lift her up. The disc does the work and transfers her quickly to her next spot. Because it is so quick, it always me to use less energy and get her there faster. She is bigger than me (5’10” 220) and I am smaller at 5’1.I noticed in some videos about this item that they have the caregivers using their feet to move the disc. We don’t have to do this as it moves automatically. I’m not sure why that tip was needed. Maybe it depends on how you lift someone. The disc is super light weight.Whoever invented this product knows exactly what she is talking about. It is really great and I highly recommend. I might actually get another one to keep in the car. Thanks!

Work smarter, not harder.
My husband has Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis and is unable to move his legs or take a step. Which means that moving him from wheelchair to bed had been quite challenging. After months of trying to lift him, turn him and adjust his direction from one place to another, my back was severely damaged. To the point where breathing was painful. As a caregiver, I felt horrible. I wanted him to be as safe as poss, but because of pain it was getting risky. Thankfully, his physical therapist recommended we get a pivot disc and a gait belt. I ordered them and life (and my back) has been much better ever since! This disc specifically is well made, turns easily and we LOVE the little non-slip grooves.

Nice and Safe Transfer Disc
Very safe transfer disc. The only problem is do not get the turn table at the bottom wet. It will not turn properly once wet. I clean the top and then wipe down the bottom turn.

Does not rotate easily. Other manufacturer’s work much better.
We got a couple of pivot discs. This one from Drive, and one from YPC. The Drive one was less expensive, but it doesn’t work very well. The YPC pivot disc works very well. I recommend paying the extra $ for the YPC disc. You’ll be glad you did. When I wiped between the discs on each model with a paper towel, the Drive disc had some type of black lubricant. Maybe graphite. The YPC disc lubricant was a clear/whiteish lube.

I like the idea behind this product but it doesn’t work …
I like the idea behind this product but it doesn’t work as well as I had hoped. It works fairly well on our hardwood floors but not as well on carpeted areas. It doesn’t spin very easily. I’m sure that’s for safety reasons but it doesn’t always spin when my mom stands on it.

Tricky at first but life saver getting in and out of car
Broke my ankle in Disney. Non weight bearing for 6 weeks. Have to stand and pivot on one leg. Trying to do that on a driveway or parking lot impossible! Hated to have to go to Dr because of this. It was awful. Bought this. At first I was unsteady but once I got over fear of falling, could hold onto the inside of car door to maneuver and realized I could pivot slowly using my hands it was perfect! Man I love this thing. I’m an RN and my physical therapist had never seen one!

With a little practice this disk is fantastic for our needs and allows us to position her …
After a year of having a tough time with my mother being transferred from the bed to the commode, or wheelchair, or from the wheel chair to a recliner, I finally found this product. My mom is mid 80’s with advanced Parkinson’s and suffers from muscle rigidity and frequently has the glued foot thing going on where her feet seem glued to the ground and she can’t take a step or lift her leg in her own. With a little practice this disk is fantastic for our needs and allows us to position her feet on the disk while lifting her up. I put my foot in between her feet half on and half off the disk to hold it secure until ready to turn her. Once I have her standing with both arms around her I simply move my foot off the disk and can easily rotate her on the turning disk to where we are going without her having to take a step. It has proven to be MUCH safer for her and the caregiver or me to move her with without worrying about her twisting an ankle or having to put too much pressure on her rib cage by physically lifting her off the ground when we are “stuck” in place. It is pretty easy to learn to use. Occasionally she will try to help us and take a step which can be a problem cause once one of her feet come off the disk it won’t turn easily. So when that happens you have to get the foot back onto the disk. But this has been a life changer and it’s much more safe for a single person transfer to do. I wish I would have found it a year ago. Her hospice nurse, and other caregivers love the device and have only had positive things said about it.

Great invention that worked as imagined. Allowed me (170lbs) to transfer my non-ambulatory father (200lbs) single handedly and repeatedly from chair to bed to commode allowing him to spend his last days at his earthly home rather than in hospital until he was called to his final home. Make sure you are realistic about your strength and look after your back; this is definitely not for everybody!

My husband is an incomplete Quad. I brought this transfer disk to move him from his wheelchair to his bed and vice versa. It makes transfers so much easier. I’d definitely recommend.

This was purchased to help get my dad into bed and it works great! It’s very slim and easy to turn. We sit him on it to turn him into his bed. It seems a little pricey, but compared to other models I’ve seen, it’s definitely worth the money. I would definitely purchase this product again, but it’s so well made, I’m certain I won’t ever have to!
