    Lightweight and dependable transport chair
A great purchase! I bought this chair one month ago for an elderly relative in her 90s with dementia and hip issues. She had been borrowing a friend’s wheelchair for a while but, after an accidental fall, the friend suddenly needed her chair back. I admit being nervous about the purchase because I needed to make a quick decision. Normally, I would prefer to buy something like this in a brick and mortar store and take my time trying out models with my relative. However, my relative needed a wheelchair/transport chair asap. (There was no way she was getting out the house without a transport chair!) Plus, at $95, the price wasn’t bad. The detailed reviews on here were also very useful in determining which model to get. Thank you, fellow reviewers! This model is lighter than other wheelchairs and easy to load in a car. In addition, it has secure breaks, enabling us to safely transfer our relative from a chair into this transport chair and from the transport chair into the car. Previously, I was eying another model, the one with slightly larger back wheels, but negative reviews about the breaks scared me away. As mentioned by the other reviewers on here, this is a great chair to use in shopping malls, apartments, houses, and around the neighborhood outside. There is even a seatbelt to secure the person in the chair. Even though I bought the bigger 19’’ model, it easily fits through doorways in a small and older house. This being said, my relative is in her 90s and doesn’t use the chair all the time. She uses it mainly on outings on paved surfaces, which are infrequent due to her age and other medical issues. In the house, she normally uses a walker, but if she is having hip pain, she will use this transport chair. From this, I can see that chair provides a smooth ride and performs well on both carpeted and non-carpeted surfaces. I cannot personally rate the performance of the chair if used daily for several hours at a time and/or on rough terrain, but see that other reviewers have been happy with the chair’s performance in demanding situations such as vacations. Due to my relative’s dementia and mobility issues, she is unable to wheel herself around. Otherwise, I would have bought a full self-propelled wheelchair (the kind with large wheels that can be moved by the person sitting in it). This was another factor I took into consideration with my purchase. While other reviewers have noted that it’s possible to self-propel, I think this chair is best suited for those who prefer to be wheeled by another person. In terms of appearance, the chair has an attractive appearance with a seatbelt and detachable leg rests. It was packed well and came clean and without defects. A care manual was included. The e-version is available here: http://cdn.drivemedical.com/media/files/958/GoKartSV_hangtag.pdf. I don’t have Prime, but normal shipping took only 5 days.

    EXACTLY What I needed
Yes, this chair is narrow. The description says it’s narrow. the seat is 17″ but the width between the arms is 14.5″. This is not for a larger person. It is lightweight but heavy-duty and PERFECT for my father. I only wish that when the foot rests are not in use, they would strap back or snap back in place. They flop forward causing the chair to be wider. For now, I removed them and put them in a tote bag to carry with the chair when needed. They could also be tied back if necessary. Other than that, it’s sturdy, rolls smoothly, easy to turn corners and go through a standard doorway without removing the door (which is why I wanted a narrow one). I purchased used/like new and only the box was damaged! The chair is fine!!! Cha-Ching! I love saving money!!! Very happy with it and well worth the full price if a used one isn’t available. I got lucky. Medical supply stores more than double the list price!

    This s a great chair
This s a very good product. I have two conventional chairs that are much heavier and clumsier to se than this char. The small wheels might be a little tough over loose or uneven surfaces, but that is more than offset by the comfort and ease of this chair it is significantly lighter 5han my other chars and when traveling, this chair is much easier to haul in and out f vehicles. On flat even surfaces it rolls great, I’d say better than a conventional large wheel unit. I recommend it highly.

    Works like a charm
I ordered this for my elderly grandmother, as I live in a city and wanted a way to get her around while she came to visit. This is a VERY good indoor wheelchair, and a decent outdoor one. I will admit, if you intend to push the party around for awhile, it becomes very uncomfortable for your hands. Granted, we walked about 2 miles in a variable-elevated terrain, but overall, the wheelchair got the job done. I ordered a used one and it came out like it was brand new, so very happy with that aspect. It moves very smoothly as well, so if you use it indoors, navigating around corners will be a breeze. It is lightweight, but as I said, it is a bit more difficult to use outdoors compared to ones with bigger back wheels. Overall, very pleased with this purchase, and would happily do so again!

Excellent…Easy to assemble (no screws) and fold. Not too heavy to get in and out the trunk..I removed the foot rests first.Perfect fit for my husband but the seat is on the small size.

This wheelchair is ideal for the job it is designed for. Not too heavy to lift into the back of a standard hatchback. Easy to manouvre. A bit of a problem with the front wheels fouling the footrests when going in reverse. Why go in reverse? Pushing my aged father round the supermarket and needing to go back for a missed item and not being to turn round in the narrow aisles. Good value

Damaged and stressed ligaments and other soft tissue around both knees and left in 2 story house living alone…totally unable to really walk for days and realized wheels could facilitate the best healing opportunity and yet I could still get around. the house. Had wheeled item on both floors and now fold it so easily in car and walk myself around the big stores. And soon will use outdoors as support to walk and then to sit to rest ligaments. Runs so smoothly and gets through the narrow doorways in this old house. At 78 I might need it again and even when healed now, will be keeping it around. Great price and more comfy to sit than walker and not so ungainly to pack up as I did for my mother’s for years.
