Customers say
Customers find the kitchen timer easy to use and appreciate its quality, with one mentioning it works well for stove or oven cooking. The loudness receives mixed feedback, with some finding it fine while others note it’s too high-pitched for their ears. Functionality and value for money also get mixed reviews, with some saying it works well and offers good value, while others report it stops working quickly and consider it overpriced. The timer’s stability is a concern, with one customer noting it tends to slide down the side.

NOT AS ADVERTISED
Why are these things advertised as “Loud” or “Extra Loud” when they clearly are NOT? This is the 5th timer I’ve had to return, and all because they were falsely listed as “Extra Loud”! It’s the case with all of these timers; even my BFF experienced the same problem and had to return hers as well. “Functionality” — NO (I can’t hear the thing go off, so my casserole stays in the oven far longer and comes out burnt). As for the other qualities, I have no idea because I didn’t get that far. If I can’t hear it, it’s worthless. I returned it as well as the other four. There has to be a loud timer out there somewhere, but we sure can’t find it!

Loud but very short timer
Is very loud, but only if you don’t have the back of it against a surface, like a wall or countertop. Being up against the surface cuts the volume in half, so it needs to stand upright. Also, the timer does not continue going off until it’s cleared or at least for a long time. the timer alarm stops on its own very quickly, so in certain uses that’s not practical because people might just think that someone else got to the task. Just things that might be important to consider for some people when looking at purchasing.

Nice little kitchen timer
Great little timer for stove or oven when cooking.

so far works great – only used it a few times since Thanksgiving
timer seem to work great so far, the sound is good, loud is fine, if you are watching tv in the next room, and the tv not too loud, low sound is fine too, if you are doing anything in the kitchen . the clock is fairly good, but don’t keep accurate after a week , may be off a minute or 2 so it not that big of deal, easy to set any of the timers and use

Worth it
Stays flat on the surface. Doesn’t fall from refrigerator when you open or close the door. It’s loud enough to hear the alarm from another room. Alarm sound is not shrill.

More elapse time information
Finally … a timer that tells me how long it’s been since the timer went off … the true time the item has been in the oven

Sturdy case. Timer is easy to set. The ringing certainly is not so loud as reported: when on a different level of the house I hear only a slight noise, and close by it’s not unusual. When the time is up, it keeps going to record the time that has elapsed since the ringing – for some things it is helpful to know how much time you’ve overrun. I’ve had no time yet to play with the clock. The back of the package (slide-back opening – thank you!!) has instructions, but they are small and in grey print. I accessed the manufacturer’s website but found no manual for model DR7 specifically. Later I’ll look at the manual for an earlier model and see if that applies. Essentially, as I only needed a reliable timer for more than 99 minutes, this works fine and the construction appears durable – worth 5 stars just for those points alone. (I had to send back another well-reviewed timer which was much more flimsy, and didn’t work from the outset.)

Has all the features I was looking for. I was disappointed when I tried to mount it on our steel exhaust fan as I did with our previous timer. The magnets were too weak to hold it in place. I have ordered some 10mm rare earth magnets that should solve this problem. The magnets it comes with are shiny and look like they are rare earth magnets but are weaker than the alnico magnets that were on our previous timer.

Instructions written on package are not easy to understand. Even though I went to company’s website, still no clear instructions. I put in ENERGIZER batteries (not the cheap ones from China) and still NO SUCCESS!! It refuses to work. Cannot return as do not have details from Amazon for this purchase.
