Customers say
Customers find the jar opener works well on bottles and jars, particularly praising its ease of use, especially for those with arthritic hands. The product receives positive feedback for its quality and usefulness, with one customer noting it’s invaluable in their kitchen utensil drawer. The grip receives mixed reviews – while some say it grasps jars firmly without slipping, others report it slides around instead of grabbing. Durability is a concern, with multiple customers reporting it snapping in half during use. Value for money opinions are divided between those who find it well worth the cost and those who consider it a waste of money.

Easy to use and works on most lid sizes
This order was a back up for our year old opener and one as a gift for a friend.I am fortunate, even pushing age 80, I have minimal arthritis and still have a very strong grip. However, the plastic caps on plastic bottles get harder and harder to open. I still have a set of the new vice grips in a kitchen drawer and it hasn’t been used since we got this great opener. My wife has arthritis of the hands and with this tool, she can open 95% of bottles/containers.Excellent product at a good price.

Awesome product
I’m 20 years disabled , a stroke made things impossible. I have struggled opening new jars. I haven’t needed the thick mesh, but this makes it really easy to open all the jars I’ve needed it to do.

No longer asking hubby to open all jars!
I have really tiny hands – the exact length of a dollar bill. This means I literally cannot grip the large 5.5″ jar tops of my favorite spaghetti sauce! Besides that, I just don’t have enough turning power on really tight lids.I got tired of only being able to open jars when my husband is home so I got this nifty device. The rubber interior does a great job of gripping the jars. (Sometimes it becomes misaligned and won’t grip until it’s taken apart and re-assembled which is annoying but easy enough to do.)The various circle sizes fit most jars, though I have a few in my cupboard that don’t fit any circle with enough grip. (They are all international sauce jars from the speciality market… so the gripper fits all standard American jars.) It works fine on both short lids (like jelly jars) and tall lids (like salsa jars or peanut butter jars).I also love that it takes very little effort to open jars. Previously I would have to tap really tight jars on the counter or with a butter knife to try to get enough air bubbles to wrench it open. Now any lid tightness is no big deal, the extra leverage makes it easy.Whether you just have tiny hands like me or otherwise need a little extra help with opening jars, this gripper gets the job done.

Wonderful gift for elderly
I bought this for my 80 year old mother who has difficulty at times opening lids and tops. This does the trick. This opens a wide variety of sizes – from lids of most anything you would have in a pantry to something as small as an the top on eye drops. My mom uses this and it gives her another level of independence so she doesn’t need to rely on someone else to open it for her. She called the other night proud of the fact that she couldn’t open the top to her eye drops, thought she would have to drive to my brother’s house to have him do that for he because her eyes were causing her discomfort. Then she remembered this was in her kitchen drawer. The opener worked right away, even on something even this small.

Works well if you can fit it on to the thing to be opened!
This item is a a novel idea intended to solve an old problem. Overall, it is clever and useful. However, the stiffness of the grips makes it difficult to open to the needed size should that size be wider than the relaxed opening. If it were more pliable, perhaps it would be a “WONDER TOOL”. Many jars are wider than the relaxed item fits.Having arthritis makes for difficult jar opening. I like this product but it needs tweaking.

Works great
I started getting arthritis in my hands and thumbs, so opening the average mayonnaise and pickle jar became difficult and uncomfortable. This device works great – almost like magic. From reading other reviews, I realize the opener could be a bit fragile and subject to breaking if you’re not cautious so I will be careful not to force this open and break it, but if handled properly I don’t see why this shouldn’t last for quite a while. For example I would use the larger opening for a mayo jar. If you tried to use the second opening, it may force the opener to expand to far and is not necessary. These are so inexpensive I might just buy a second one and have a spare ready to go because they work so well.

Helps A Lot
Older couple. Not helpless, but the aches and pains we have make getting into a difficult jar a chore. We bought this because it seemed simple, wasn’t expensive, and looked like it would be easy to store. We don’t use it often, but so far it has worked well. Good purchase.

Plus besoin d’un homme dans sa vie pour ouvrir les pots avec ça! Ça fait super bien. With that, you won’t need a boyfriend to open the jersey for you. Really practice.

I purchased these two jar openers to help with over-tightened astronomical equipment. Other tools damage the equipment, but these work extremely well. Having two is also helpful, especially if there are two short tubes. The openers also cover the range of most astronomy equipment.

The size of the largest cap size is not adequate to handle 4 inch caps.
